I'm sure we've all seen it...At one time or another, we all looked at that one, rich shmuck that got his epic flier before we did, all the while you are riding around on your pathetic little 60% ghetto flier. Yeah, THAT feeling. So with the release of the QD dailies, in addition to the Outlands dailies (QD being on Azeroth), could help get you that mount pretty quick.

But what about those of us who are just down right sick of Bloodelves, their music, the atmosphere that surrounds them, or just bored of running those same handful of dailies from Outlands? I dont know about you guys, but as far as I'm concerned, dailies are a double edged sword. They are mind numbingly easy, the opportunity cost of not doing them is very large, but at the same time they are a great source of income, and for some the only way to get that tricked out epic flier.

Well, today I got sick of doing the dailies, and just decided to go and quest in Shadowmoon Valley. I made my way up to Legion hold to kill some big pitlord hanging around up there. As soon as I show up, all I see is this massive carcass just laying there - someone beat me to the kill. Bored of just waiting for him to respawn, I decide to start killing the Warlocks that hang around the top channeling a spell into those big pillars.

WOW, nice drops! At least 2-3 pieces of cloth, 5-20 silver, A mark of Sargearas every few kills or so, and (maybe my luck today) a very fair amount of potions/scrolls.

Wait..Whoa! SOO easy to kill! Level 67/68 usually so its fairly open for any high lvl to get a piece of the action. I was on my mage, he is well geared (1075 +dmg) but who isnt these days, and I could 2 shot these mobs, I would say they have around 7.5-8K health (approximation of course). Toss on mage armor, and this bad boy: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=28108 , and I am a pretty much non stop fireball turret

"But wait, arent turrets stationary? Dont you need to run around really far to get to the other mobs if you kills them so fast?"

This is the best part of farming here. For some reason, the mobs respawn really fast - and boy do I mean FAST. 10-20 seconds, they are back, waiting to die.

I spend about 45 minutes to an hour on my QD dailies, it nets me about a hundred gold.

I spent about 2 hours today farming this area, and got around 400 gold from all the cloth, marks of sargearas, fel armaments, pots, scrolls, and other drops that were sold/disenchanted.

All in all, this area is VERY profitable in my opinion.

AND WHO da *** GO N E WHERE BUT SHATT 4 DA BG MASTURS OR QUEL-DEE FOR DA DAILIES LAWL NUB L2P

Yeah, this place is DESERTED 90% of the time, so GG competition for kills. The odd fella will show up there looking for quest help on the elites or something, but it didnt seem like many people realize how much money could be made here. Or, maybe this place isnt a secret at all, and I'm way behind in the times. Bottom line, it made me GOOD money, and relatively fast. It sure doesnt replace dailies, but god damn does it supplement the hell outta them to fill your wallet up FAST to get you that flier, or epic gem/recipe/sword/bag/attention from that hot bling loving NE who will dance for money.

So yeah, I hope this is news, if not, I hope theres at least the one new guy out there that this was able to help.

Cheers

I farmed at Legion Hold for a bit when I was 68, but totally forgot about it once I hit 70.

Thanks for bringing this place back up :D

Thanks!

you just made me want to go on my hunter and farm there instead of doing dailies (which I dislike)

Rate up for the reminder

PS, you'd better not be on Anachronos (EU) server :-)

If you are a miner, there are a lot of nodes nearby as well.

Back before dailies, all I did for gold was farm Legion Hold(and normal quests, of course). Good spot, but I'm more sick of that than I could ever be of dailies. And the dailies still get rep for my alts. And, the RPer in me loves the dailies as a nice place to "combat the great threat from the Legion" since I'm doing more than just killing mobs.

I farmed aldor there. and quite a lot of gold.

Legion hold is THEE best place for random farming.

Mobs who go down easy, large quantity, great cash, cloth and item drops, located very close together and no need to worry about running out of them as the place seems big enough to complete just after respawns start.

But, those mobs are, like, level 70. Smiley: eek As I'm sure many other healing spec'd folks have found, with herbalism and fishing I can make money twice as fast farming primal water and life as I can doing dailies. Fly over the EP. It's best if you do this early in the morning. Fish the pools of water. Hit the lake right below too, for good measure (if you fish everything, you'll get respawns including more pools of water). Zip over to the Dead Mire. Farm boggies til your bags are full (don't forget to herb-pick their corpses). If you've got a water breathing potion, hit the lake at the top of Terrokar and take out a few eels on your way back to Shat. Pick every herb you see the whole time. The mobs in this route are all level 61-62ish and can be taken down super fast. Very fast gold for those of us whose dailies are less efficient.

Of course, I still do my dailies, because I wants mah necklace, but once I get it I'm neverever going back.

I found Death's Door to be similarly lucrative, in Blades Edge Mountains, for the same reasons. Aldor marks aplenty, green items for disenchanting, lots of cloth for making into bandages and vendoring plus the odd random item like a gem or two. Since most of the mobs were humanoid, most could be pick-pocketed as well.

I farmed here a lot when I was trying to get exhaulted with Aldor. After that I went back to farm the very nice alchemy recipe's that drop here.

Major Shadow Protection Potion and Fel Strength Elixir. Both are BoP and I believe will only drop for an alchemist.

Then of course there are tons of Fel armaments, marks of sargeras, more netherweave than you can shake a stick at.

Great place for sure.

I really need to go farm those on my hunter, im just so lazy and hate playing my hunter. :) I have found on my server that aldor marks sell for twice the amount of scryer marks. So i have been farming aldor and selling them, buying twice the amount of scyer marks for myself to use.

Respawn rates are based on the number of people in the zone times a hidden mob value. Other than that this is a great peice of info to have. thanks :)

My secret spot has been spoiled. Curses, LeetSpeak!

Seriously, Legion Hold is fantastic. Literally instant respawns, easy to kill level 67 mobs (I kill them in 5 seconds or less), and solid drops make it a great place to farm. I get more gold/hour there than dailies, but it does get repetitive and boring after a while.

I farm in the dead mire, in zangarmarsh. Two hours last night got me 20 primal life, five or six stacks of ragveil, a stack of terocone, a couple stacks of dreamfoil, 3 eternium lockboxes, and 50g worth of vendor trash. All in all, a pretty good haul, even though I'm hoarding the herbs in a guild bank. Yay, monies!

Before the number of dailies were increased to 25 I spent a lot of time at Legion Hold on my warrior, farming marks and armaments to get to exalted with Aldor. I made a ton of cash on the cloth and other random drops but I hadn't been back in a while. I cruised past there on my priest the other day and there was no one around (this was at peak server time). I think with the high number of dailies available people have kicked farming to the curb as a way to make money, myself included.

Thank you for reminding me about this place. I'll be sure to head over there this afternoon when the servers come back up.

My 70 hunter is staying in Dire Maul arena and farm 2 blue drops (100g) per day and at least 2 Orbs of deception a week (2000G). It takes me 10 minutes a day.

I almost never do dailies anymore, except for my fishing daily. <3 Farming can definitely rake in more rewards than just doing some dailies, too.

no real reason to be in the isle once you hit exalted (imo) unless you like competing for spawns on mobs that don't even have great drops and drop rates.

can go pretty much anywhere and make over 100g/hr if you are farming/skinning/gathering etc

Do those spawns in the Dire Maul arena arrive at certain times like the Gurubashi chest? or is it just a random spawn?

I will be exalted with SSO by this afternoon, and after that, I MAY go back from time to time, but I doubt it will be much. I spend all of my time specced Prot atm (Paladin) and can only do the QD dailies solo early in the morning or very late at night... otherwise I am a sitting target for the stupid horde that would rather PvP on QD instead of just getting their dailies done and getting OFF OF THAT STUPID ISLAND! The only dailies I plan do do once I reach exalted with SSO are the ones that give goodie-boxes (I like getting the occasional Badge of Justice for nothing), and the ones that give Skyguard rep instead of SSO rep. Trips to the island will be rare unless I am doing MgT or something, and trips there to do dailies will be almost non-existant.

I am a miner, so if I want to make money, I usually set my flyer on auto-fly, turn on some tunes, and do laps around the borders of Zangarmarsh. Easy mobs to kill, and I can get to most nodes without killing anything, and by the time I am done with a lap on my slow non-epic flyer, everything has re-spawned.

Use that SSO gold to buy that epic mount and start the Netherwing quests.

Mining Netherwing Nodes + Netherwing Dailies = Much Win

I mix and match farming spots with dailies. I don't do all my dailies all the time and I don't farm the same spots all the time. I prefer to mix it up a little here and there. Makes it less boring and besides some dailies are completely stupid.

In my grind for kurenai rep, I've found up around the ring of blood farming is awesome. Between getting all the rep items I want, getting 100 powder samples in no time, enough netherweave to make a tailor swoon for your, 5-20 silver a kill, and a decent drop on greens it makes for farming gold pretty easy. In just two hours of grinding I made about 400-500 gold from tailor/de the cloth and DE all the greens.

Farming may gain more gold/hour, but if I don't have a goal, like the dailies give me, then I tend to get bored very quickly. Maybe the random number generator hates me(doubt it) or maybe I pick the worng place/time/thing to farm for, but I've seen little results with farming.

It's not so big of a deal now since I have epic flying, now I just need the rep grind for my drake and I'll be set until WotLK.
