What Would You Change If You Could ?....Follow

Hi All,

I was just wondering if they could what would people add to WoW ?

I’ve played loads of MMORPG games so I know there are things missing in WoW which I really miss from other games I’ve played (also I am new so if I say something that’s incorrect please correct me)

Any Ideas?

Mine could be “Tinkering” from Asherons Call (ac) (I know this would take away from professions) Being new I don’t know if this is possible but within AC you would be able to add properties to your existing items (So if you have a decent shield you could collect 100 units of a item and this would add 20+ armour) The most you could tink any item was 10… Also there was the possibility of the item blowing up depending on the skill of the tinker

Also Portals

I know Mages can have portals at lvl 20 but it’s the of the things that annoy me about WoW is all the walking as its so slow and cant really be make much quicker (I know mounts at 40 Soon to be 30) but even those cant beat a good old portal I don’t just mean to towns it would also be nice to be able to “Tie” to dungeon portals

Something I would like to see (and I know wont ever happen) would be the ability to add exp point where you want them E.g if you wanted to add all your level points to intelligence you could

Well that’s my 2 cents !

How about:

- An option for auto-attack if you're being attacked?

- An option for turning off the ability to select/target a party member or pets (theirs or your own) except by hotkey or by clicking on their portrait?

I've played ALOT of MMORPGs and one thing I miss is housing. It would open the door for more types of rewards (furniture/decorating items) and it would also open the door for more craftable items for housing. And it would give us another place for more storage.

Houses would be great.. Plus they could have different types of houses for differnt levels.
E.G - Low level gets Apartments / Flats

High Level - Get Villas/Mansions - - Also could have "Epic" houses which are within the wall of the main cities ... They would be mega bucks plus lots of quests. Of course you could have to keep up with the rent ect.. so the houses could change hands if players leave the game ect..

Enchanters, Leatherworkers, Tailors and Blacksmiths can all do similar things. And having your new shield that you just spend ages farming badges for blowing up? Yeah, that's not going to be a popular addition.

That's what Hearth Stones are for, if you're planning on running a specific dungeon a fair few times. There's also the summon stones, so the nearest 2 can run to the dungeon and then summon the rest of the group.

You can always buy pure +intel greens, but just buffing one stat isn't good. No Stamina? Hey, you'll be getting one shotted by level 30 mobs.

Thats just one of risks you have to take if you want the best gear

Again its down to the player how they mold there toons .. Plus (I dont do it) but I think it would add another angle to PvP as everyone wouldnt have the stats

Someone still has to run there. Where with summon portal and portal ties they would only need to go there once. (Of course you could only hold one or 2 portals so you dont have access to everywhere that would madness)

Also id like to be able to identify other peoples weapons .. Again im new and im always walking around towns looking at all these lvl 70s with shiny weapons / shields and thinking "Umm I wonder what that is .."

No, it's not. It's just stupid. We can already have the best gear and add to it with enchants and jewelcrafting gems. Plus, we get to keep the item and not lose it to an explosion.

Adding another angle to PvP is made by some people ******** up their stat allocation? We can already do that. Players can choose what stats they build up via their gear while certain stats are also automatically developed (on a much smaller scale) based on the character's class. It would be stupid to see a hunter running around, after having stuffed all his xp into strength. No one will want to group with them and they'd be close to useless even to themselves.

In single player games I agree that having to run around very long distances can feel pointless. But one of the points of WoW is that you inhabit an entire world. The huge player population is just a single element of that. Mounts are great and keep things from becoming totally tedious and porting lots could be handy. But I think the whole game would become a lot more plain and boring if you could just blip around to so many locations easily.

You can do this. Target the player and right-click on their portrait to access a drop-down menu. Then just click on 'Inspect' and a character window will show up, allowing you to see the names of each gear piece they're wearing. It's a handy tool if you like what something looks like and want to track it down.

I'd still like the /ignore command to be channel specific. For instance, I'd like to ignore enchanters who spam trade with their lists, but still be able to communicate with them if we ever ended up in the same group.

I would add better and more intelligent players. Unfortunately miracles don't really happen. :(

I'd take the channel specific ignores. I'd also like housing!

I'd remove crafting being level based, engineers making things only for themselves,

I'd add buy requests to the auction house, add an auto stack button, add world resource centers that give world PvP a reason,

There's lots I normally think of but when forced to sit and write it out when not in game, it's hard!

I want to be able to buy extra hearth stones and set them to different locations.

I want to be able to send mail among characters of the same account regardless of faction.

I want matching armor, and no panty armor.

And new hair. Yay, expansion!

I'd like to change my hair, and maybe the dancing style. It'd be nice to switch up your moves mid-dance.

Also I'd like to change it so all the idiots are on certain realms and the rest of the population is free to choose.

I know that WoW is actually really good about this, but I'd like to have it be even more solo-friendly. I don't like grouping much, because I'm new to this type of gaming and am always making mistakes. I hate being the one to cause a wipe or something, and am always really nervous when grouping for that reason. But when most of the good gear comes from instances and it's all Bind on Pick-up, it can be a bit disheartening.

I also like the hearthstone idea, but agree that one of the things I like about the game is the travel. I think we should be able to have one hearthstone for each continent. You'd still have to take the zeppelin or boat over the first time (in order to talk to the innkeeper), and you could only have 1 per continent. I'm just really sick of being stuck on the zeppelin for 30 minutes because of lag. I'm not seeing any landscape then anyway.

I think that individual housing might be too much of a *cluster*... We don't need the Exodar looking like Tokyo or Hong Kong... lol.

HOWEVER, I think it would be cool if each guild could have their own equivalent of a small inn with an inkeeper and cook and beds, etc. and maybe even put the guild banks in each specific guild inn... that might be more practical. That being said, it could still get a little cluttered... maybe restrict it to a certain location in Shattrath as a reward to guilds with higher level chars, or one of the Azeroth towns that has both a flightmaster and a port (Menethril for example) if you did not want to restrict it to guilds with higher level chars...

Of course then everyone who wasn't in a guild would complain, but each town would still have the regular inn minus the guild-bank feature.

In a game where anyone with gold can have a guild i dont think the guild hall option would be much less crowded than player housing.

I would agree to housing only if the opposing faction can ransack your town and burn your house down. That would create alot of world pvp and be incredibly fun while keeping down the overcrowding.

I like the 2nd Hearthstone idea, and maybe tie it to a quest chain to "earn" it. Or you can't get it until level 20, or something.

Or another option: Have some quest NPC's give you, or sell you, a queststone or scroll, that ports you back to them when you are done with the quest. This would save 1/2 the travel time on the quests that send you to different zones, or clear across a zone.

They have this NOW on the Isle of Quel'danas, where you get the scroll to send you back to Shattrath. The only difference would be that you'd get the quest scroll when accepting the quest, instead of as a completion reward.

Housing is not a big deal for me, nor do I like the possibility of an item blowing up. I still remember gathering mats for two days in Knight Online, only to have it fail repeatedly. I would still be playing if it wasn't for that.

Or they could just go the simple route and have instances housing/guild halls.

See the thing is, if you include housing then Goldshire (and specifically the Loins Head Inn (spelling intentional)) are going to lose a lot of its current flavor.

Housing, if I remember right, is something that was originally planned for the game. (And hopefully will be implemented someday.) The idea was to handle player housing as instanced neighborhoods in each city. For an example of what this looks like in game, see the south end of the canal just east of Stormwind's trade district. The instance portal behind the gate...that leads to the neighborhood, supposedly, though it's obviously not available yet.

It's a clever idea. They would avoid the player housing mess of games like star wars galaxies by placing them off on their own in a specifically instanced area, so the game world isn't really affected by the changes players make. Hopefully we'll see that feature in the game at some point.

It would be cool if they added houses and furni (maybe trophies).
Something like a Mog House in FFXI.
Be a plus if so many people could come in and see your house.

One thing i dis-like about WoW is this Bind deal.
I think stuff that Binds should be for rare items and certain items are different levels.
But not almost everything you put on your toon.
If they don't want this because everyone would all of a sudden be "uber" , then let my be account only.
LET ME take my stuff I don't wear anymore, and send it to my Enchanting toon, so they can get a use out of the mats that would come from it.
