Actually I'm around that age. Officially medically retired due to deteriorating spine. MMOs are the best entertainment for me. And I really enjoy WoW!

More power to you!

I'm 45 this month, and to some folks that's old. In fact, I might be the oldest person in my guild.

My mom and other older relatives are so darn scared of computers themselves that they'd never play an MMO, let alone be good with it. Sadly they have trouble just figuring out how to send email.

The first person to even own a computer in my family was my 80+ grandmother. I didn't get my own first computer till she decided she was a bit to senile to use it and passed her PC Jr to me.

Great to see older folks kicking butt!

Hurray, I haven't hit 60 yet, so I'm still a youngster.

I have to take my wife out for our 34th anniversary Friday (Kara night). My son (70 rogue and warlock) is going to take my priest in. They are so going to die.

My old GM was in his 60's and played a Moonkin.
I always have strange dreams of his old *** sitting there, retired, growing Moonkin in his basement.

My grandma's turning 90 in July, and she's used my account a few times if that counts. Never got past level 5, but she played.

*sniff* I feel like crying....I can't even get my husband to play WoW, my mom likes to play on ~shudder~ pogo. My grandpa does know how to do CAD, but he doesn't know how to check his email. My grandma, well, she has a hard time pronouncing c o m p u t e r. She probably thinks it has a little demon inside of it waiting to drain her soul. I have a 92 year old great-grandma and while I am proud she can still walk and drive and knows her name I can not imagine her sitting in front of a computer yelling "I owned that warlock, take that alliance scum!"

I've always wanted to get my dad to play WoW with me and my brother, but it's hard enough teaching him how to use Microsoft Word. :S

Grats on the anniversary old man - my 30th is coming up fast. Maybe she'll get me the x-pac for a gift. Isn't 30 plastic?

My guild leader, who has several level 70s, is a grandma and well into her 70's I believe. Nicest guild leader you would ever meet.

I used to game with a crew called "Geezer Gamers" (Not in WoW, but plenty of other games - I met them playing Halo 2). I found it interesting, really. I was only 17 or 18 at the time, but they let me play with them since they considered me more mature than the average 17-18 year old (which, in that game, was not very high). I have to say, it was really interesting playing with "older" folks (Most of them were in their 40's - 50's, though a few had some older parents and such who would play as well (60+).

I really like seeing different POVs in games, whether playing with younger folks or older folks. In fact, it's really my own generation that I can't stand (since most of them are disgustingly immature or idiotic - not all, but enough). (Note: I'm 20).

Also, I love the family mentality that I run into so often where people play, their parents play, and their siblings play. I come from a family as the only one who really enjoyed video games, so I never got to experience that.

Not WoW, but my friend's grandfather is an avid EQ2 player, only because he was an EQ player back in the day. He's dissatisfied with EQ2 after giving it more than its fair shot, and is considering changing games... he may join the WoW crowd soon.

He's just apprehensive of even more crazy young'uns messing up his game experience.

Instead of "Turn Undead," paladins get "Hammertime", which forces the targeted player to dance uncontrollably for 20 seconds.

I worked in a lab for 15 years before going over to the IT department, supporting a corporate LIMS system, instrument interfacing, etc. Two months ago I was at one of the sites and found out one of the soon-to-be-retiring chemists was a MMORPG player, with a couple of WoW toons (though none were above lvl 35).

I got the impression that he spreads himself pretty thin, as he was playing LOTRO, WoW, and Conan Online (or whatever it is called) at the time. Having only played 2 MMORPGs seriously, I was surprised when he rattled off the titles of over a dozen that he had played.

He is a grandfather, but I am not entirely certain he is over 60 (my guess would be 58-62).

This question does cause cause me to wonder what MMORPGs will be like in 20 years, as I am certain that the median playing age will increase. Will these games become less dependent upon quick actions, making strategy a stronger part of the game play?
