I would like to start a character that can stealth, I'm just not sure which one to choose. I want to pvp in end game with the ability to do alot of solo pve. Which one should I choose, Rogue or Druid?

Honestly as fast as leveling is I say start both and level them to 20 to see which one you like.

For a druid, I would recommend leveling to 30. All I have heard is that druids are extremely easy levelers. My problem with them is getting to level 20 first when you get cat form. 1-10 caster form is terrible and bear form is meh. I keep getting stuck around level 15, just need to push myself a little harder to see the difference.

But yeah, level each to 30 (shouldn't take much more than 1-1.5 days played per character) and see which one you like more.

JUST TRY BOTH. NO ONE IS GOING TO F---ING KILL YOU IF YOU PICK ONE OR THE OTHER.

*ahem* I'm sorry, but we've seen a lot of these "Which Class Should I Pick" threads, and it's getting quite annoying. But I know you're new here, and you can type pretty well, so I'll say it nicely.

Pick a rogue.

I had more fun and success with a druid then rogue myself.

A lot of people say that its difficult to play a druid but personally, I found the feral druid to be one of the easiest classes in the game.

The flexability and versatility of the feral is obscene - up until the end game you can easily match or exceed a rogue in DPS so you're set from that perspective.

In combat, you've got the ability to switch over to bear form if things turn ugly to give you additional armor and health to last out the fight or even pop off a quick heal if you're not being beaten on my multiple mobs (as a Tauren just stomp, root, back up and start healing - not sure what a NE can do beyond root and scoot though).

You can also toss two different heal over time spells onto yourself before you go into combat in order to give yourself some extra health regen right from the get-go as well as pulling with nukes and dots.

Fairy fire, both regular and feral are extremely useful for both PvP and PvE (rogues HATE being tagged as they can't stealth as long as its on them).

Your healing spells also allow for fast health recovery in a tight area - if you have to worry about a wondering mob coming in on you within seconds after a fight is over, the healing spells allow you to save pots for emergencies and heal way faster then bandages or food (learn first aid and cooking anyway - stat food rocks and first aid saves mana when there's not an emergency but you still want fast heals).

Finally, the druid has an edge that a rogue can't hope to match - you can also effectively tank which means that from the PvE perspective, you've got a far superior chance of scoring yourself a group for any given instance.

Remember, DPS are a dime a dozen - looking for tank/healer is inevitably what dead ends a group trying to hit an instance.

I'd vote druid.

Then if you get in trouble you can shift, heal, then shift back to kitty (or bear, should the need arise).

Also, you could always roll tank or healer, should you get tired of your 5-6 moves you have while in kitty form.

I second all this. Except the part where you stop your druid at 15.

OP, I'm don't blame you for being curious about opinions, but I do agree that you're not going to get much from this kind of question. Having someone respond to you with "Rogues are teh sux, I tried one and it was terrible!" is not going to be useful.* All that means is that person was terrible at playing a rogue. There's not one class that secretly sucks and one that's secretly good at everything.** All classes are fun if you enjoy the playstyle. All are good if played well. All suck if played by someone who sucks at it.

The only subjective view that is going to help you is your own. We may have tried both classes, but we can't try them as you.

(*Except it's true, druids are way better.)

Rogue = pure DPS, good PvP.

Druid = DPS, tank or heal depending on spec, gear and time of day, great PvP healing, meh PvP otherwise.

QFT

If your rolling for the sheer "Stalking from the Shadows" gameplay, you may find that in the endgame Catform is somewhat limited compared to the versatility and scope of a Rogue's stalking abilities except for one aspect, Track Humanoids (Which is a powerful tool).

Dont get me wrong, Mangle is molten *** on tap, but there isnt much more to Catform than that.

Straight Stealth Superiority & Versatility: Rogue

Versatility across the board (And healing bad-assery should you go that route): Druid

When discussing druids for PvP, is everyone who's saying "go resto" refering to arena or BG PvP?

Just so you know, Feral Druids aren't terrible in PvP. Their just not easy. A Resto druid is easy from the first time you enter the arena, and up, in terms of 2s/3s. Feral Druids just have a steeper learning curve. I believe it was Jordster who played a Feral druid past the 2k rating (correct me if I'm wrong, I may be...) so it's very possible--just harder than playing a resto druid which has multiple good comps, much more survivability, and no real counter. Now really I'm not here to say which one you should choose, you should do that on your own. I'd suggest really thinking about it more in depth than "I WANT STEALTH". Do you want to heal? Do you want more variety? Do you want some great openers/finishers? Do you want to excel in the DPS field? I also suggest looking at the spell lists for both classes, just to get an idea at what their spells are like.

I would go with the "level to 30" for both classes. I played a Rogue long ago and I loved being able to tear through enemies and barely take damage at later levels due to dodge and the like. Based on my own experiences, Rogues are VERY gear dependent (you need to keep getting nicer weapons anyways), whilst I am finding out that Druids only need to use their weapons for stats, and aren't concerned so much with their weapon damage (boomkin?)

When I played pvp on my Rogue, it was great being able to stun lock opponents, and sap their healers, and sneak around at my pleasure. With my Druid I am working on, I am finding its a little more difficult to sneak, kill, and resneak, especially when it comes to killing in capitals :D

Rogue can cut through enemies fast, but will eventually need to heal after fights (and healing during close encounters may be difficult, and vanishing requires materials), while Druids seem like they can rip through enemies (possibly a little slower), but then can heal themselves with their mana real fast as they are looking for the next target, and then shape shift back into their cat form.

Check them both out, but I most certainly like the Druid and what I read based on its versatility, especially should I change my mind and want to do raiding, etc.

I have both to 70 ...and I recommend playing both to 20 + as a test. Both classes are a lot of fun to play.

"Bear" in mind druids are a bit tougher to level early on (1-20).

Now, if you put a gun to my head and made me pick?

Druid
