Ok, first off get Omen threat meter. You can pick it up at www.curse.com. That will tell you how much threat you produce and if others in your party have it, it will tell you how much they are producing as well.

If the tank has it then you know just how much you can unload.

Now if this is your first party experience, things work a bit differently than soloing. In a party it's not about burning the monster down as fast as humanly possible. That only leads to a dead damage dealer and probally a dead party.

Let your tank get aggro first and slowly up the damage you do. Do not go full balls to the wall the moment the monster is pulled. Remember you're not soloing you don't have to kill it before it reaches you. And easy on the aoe spells, in the wrong place that can cause a wipe.

It takes a while to get a feel for what you can do before the monster decides to eat your face but when you do, you'll find instances go much easier.

Now if you mean aggro as in you're running ahead of the group and other monsters see you and decide to eat your face, then all I can say is, you're a mage stay in the back with the other ranged attackers. I know the body is all shiny with loot but it'll still be there when the group moves forward to take care of the next group of monsters.

You'll have a tank which will be either a druid bear, a paladin or a regular warrior.

When your tank attacks the target, wait a few seconds for the tank to do things to get "agro" or "threat" - you'll see little icons under the name of the monster your group is fighting - once the tank has a few of those up (or just count to five) then start casting spells.

You don't really need Omen for RFC. Just wait before opening fire, give the tank time to build threat. If a mob starts to attack you, run TOWARD the tank and don't try to hurt the mob more, that'll only make it stick to you more. And don't feel like you always have to do the max damage possible. Maybe throw three fireballs rather than fireball/fireblast/fireball -- the damage is more spread out over time. Maybe open with a couple of seconds of wanding and then wind up a fireball. You'll figure it out.

Best tips i can give have already been answered i guess , but as was said try and stay as far away from the mobs as possible , Distance=lower threat to the mob and should help the Tank keep control easier..

Don't attack mobs the tank isn't attacking.

Target the tank on every pull and hit the "f" button. You'll target who he's targeting, then start attacking.

Otherwise, learn to find your sheep button faster, and learn to use it. I love to have a mage in a group with me because of their immense CC. Learn to use yours and groups will love you.
