This isn't really a rant or a B**ch session, I'm mostly just kidding around. Bored at work.

Why izzit:

...If I need to kill X amount of a certain type of monster, and theres a plentiful supply of that kind of beast running around a certain area, that they seem to instantly stop respawning when I'm only 1 or 2 away from achieving my goal? Its frustrating. Especially when the area is also full of other creatures that can kill my character so I'm trying to hurry up and get outta there.

...Or I need to kill a certain number of a kind of creature and they are in moderate numbers. But luckily no one else is around the area they spawn in so I can get my quota and move on. But as soon as I start about 8 other people show up and begin wiping them out. I can almost gaurantee that if I come back after this quest no one will be there, but as soon as I need this spawn its alluva sudden like Dec. 24th at the mall.

...I read a post somewhere once called "wolves with pants"somewhere, and I found it quite interesting. The gist of it was how can a creature that would have no nead for certain things have these items on them? I really had to wonder that when I killed a wolf on one of my low level characters a day ago and got some gauntlets and copper coins out of it. Its a wolf, for pete's sake! Was he wearing gloves? Was he carrying lunch money?

...People wanting to start a guild start simply scrolling down the /who list and sending invites? I mean, you don't know me. why would you want to invite me to your guild before you even know if I'm an okay guy? (This was a really sore point in CoH, since the "guild" got "money" for each player that joined.) I always appreciate someone asking me first with a /tell, but some guy asked me 4 times last night! Each time it was the same nicely asked questioned "Would you like to join my guild?". My answers got more surly as time went on. It started as "No, thanks, appreciate the offer." to "No", to "You asked me already, dude, no." to finally "STOP!". The last time I was thinking maybe its some kind of bot, but he replied "Oh, sorry. NP.".

...Someone wants to duel you but they are 10 levels higher. WTF is the point in that? Face the music, if you challenge someone to a duel that you can't possibly lose, you're pretty lame. There's really no way around it. Strangely some level 50 guy asked to duel my level 63 Warlock a few nights ago. I turned him down, but I wondered why he wanted to duel with someone 13 lvels higher....

...That after a long run/flight to a location (that can get pretty boring) just when I engage the enemy I've been looking for, my wife always comes in the room and wants to talk to me. Its always at that point when the fight begins too, so that I can't really divide my attention. This always leads to the "You're not paying attention to me" speech. (and its almost always about some story of someone she works with that I don't even freaking know....) Of course, I can always choose to just die, but then I have to go through that long run again from the graveyard....and she's only going to start yakkin' once I rez anyway. This also happens with phone calls, and its never anything terribly important...its like the caller simply wants to kill your character.

...that Stitches can fit in a normal sized door? during one of his attacks he chased my level 25 hunter into the inn. there were hardly and player characters in duskwood at the time but i figured he'd spend some time beating on the guard NPCs while I regrouped. Nahh, he followed me in the building! Hey! He's like 15 feet tall! How'd he get in the freaking door!? (The best part is he killed me and attacked Commander Ebonlocke who instantly calls for help...yet she stood there unmoving when Stitches monkey stomped me on the street. Heck, he killed me so fast I think my characters on other servers took equipment damage. Even the ones in City of Heroes)

I've seen this happen a lot to me, too! It also happens when I have to collect X number of items, where I get the first lot pretty fast, then the last one or two just seem to disappear from the game for half an hour :)

I actually call it "Last-itis".

I liked the post by the way :)

Lol. It is a rant. But an amusing one. I can feel the pain.

Yeah always happens to me. Apart from my SPriest all my toons are in PvP servers. As soon as I start grinding in an empty area, a group of Horde always comes along when I am on the last few. It usually ends with me dying and then logging on to alt. Cant be asked to run back to corpse :(

Usually when a much higher level asks me to duel, I'll say "Duel for 2g". They will either leave you alone and not bother or give you the 2g. Just stand there, take a beating, heal up and carry on, slightly more richer :)

p.s. Im bored at work to. Sucks.

Ok, my main "Why Izzit..."

Why izzit a quest (cant 'member the name) asks you to go collect 6 spider legs, and you have to smush on av. 10-15 spiders? C'mon, they have 8 legs each- surely the law of averages dictates a better drop rate?

You're confusing the law of averages and the law of WoW averages.

The law of WoW averages states that if you need 6 spider legs that you must kill roughly 500 spiders.

And God help you if you have to get a spider ichor.

Haha! I feel ya, man. Its like that quest in Westfall where you need goretusk snouts. How can you possibly NOT get a snout from a drop? What did I do, kill a headless pig?

The second point can be summed up with this graph:

I seem to recall a quest where you needed Basalisk brains. So many empty heads it's rediculous.

Along the lines of the people who /who when inviting. My druid gets asked all the time to instances. Most of the times its just a "can you come to heroic whatever?"
First off, you didn't ask if I would tank/dps/heal(I haven't healed an instance successfully since, well...never!).
Second, you have no idea if I am keyed or not.(oh I am honored with a few places, but I have not bought any keys and I am not honored with all factions that have keys)
Third, you obviously haven't looked at my gear because you certainly would not want me to be in your heroic group if you saw my gear.

And then there is the people that ask, and then ask again a few minutes later. Nope, sorry I didn't change my mind in that place of time!

I've made a /dnd macro that I try to remember to put on when I log in that states my case so I don't have to worry about replying. But geez, it amazes me why someone would ask someone so random to a heroic.

I go around dueling People alot higher than me, sometimes beating them but mostly for the shock factor. When a lvl 60 duels a lvl 68 and kills him you know he isnt one to mess with ;)

I'll add to the tangent about heroic invites. I never, ever get an invite to do a heroic on either of my mains (a well-geared warlock and a bear druid that's at or above all the recommended heroic/kara numbers.) However, every time I log on my JC alt (a 70 rogue with a green main-hand, level 60 shoulders, and lots of crappy quest reward gear) I get an invite to the daily heroic or to fill a spot in some guild's Kara run.

I really wish you could link your armory in game... I'm sure my 72 hit rating and 54 dps weapons would steamroll those wimpy heroics.

It's funny, actually. When my human lock had just dinged 20, I was in Lakeshire and some level 30 pally wanted to duel me. I declined the first time, thinking yeah right. But he persisted until I finally accepted. So here he is, 10 levels higher than me and cocky. So I send Voidy after him, fear, DoT, Shadowbolt crit, refear, re-DoT, /yawn, lifetap, drain health.... dead pally. He then just proceeded to shout "OMG! WTF!" and insult me to no end for "cheating." I bet he didn't expect me to have points invested in anti-resist talents and obviously didn't inspect me to see I was wearing mostly "of shadowy wrath" gear. He never hit me once. That's what you get for being an arrogant little $#!t, lol.

I get challenges all the time from 66-69 rogues who think cloak of shadows is a free kill on casters, and that killing a 70 will get you mass kudos. come back when you can DPS me down before it runs out, and wont complain about me using netherweave nets. On the other hand i had no problems losing to a 69 shadow priest, (may or may not have been twinked for 60-69 bracket) who /bowed afterwards.

Why izzit most bad players are sore losers, yet never learn to get used to it by 70?

That makes me wonder if the game is somehow set to make you have to grind for some drops. Because I didn't need spider ichor last night and I got a lot of it. Now the stupid legs I needed took a gazillion kills, but I daggone sure got some ichor! (whatever the hell that is) It makes me think that if you have a quest that requires a drop from a certain creature the game is automatically set to make drops scarce, where if you don't have the quest in your log the drop is more common. Because as it was said, how could the spider not have a leg to use?

Funny story relating to this actually! Last Saturday me, and 14 of my fellow horde members were doing an AB/EotS premade. (5caps and 6min EotS games ftw!)Well while we were waiting for one of our healers to get back from afk, I get a random tell from somebody "Can you come tank heroic Crypts? All we need is a tank"
I told him no thanks, and that I was in a premade and also didn't know how long I would be on. We play a quick game of EotS, and then somebody in Vent says "Does anybody know "randompersonsname"? They just asked me to tank heroic Crypts for the daily." And all of a sudden, Vent explodes with people saying stuff like "lol omg he asked me too!" We had 3 druids, 3 warriors, and 3 paladins...he asked every one of us. He even asked me twice...asked the EXACT same thing...like he had it to a macro or something :O
I inspected him, he was a warrior, just like me. So I asked him.
"Why don't you tank it?" I said.
"Because I'm DPS"
"Oh, why should I tank it?"
"Because you are a warrior" -_-
"LOL, well so are you!" (I actually lol'd here)
"Yeah, but I'm DPS spec"
"Well sorry bud, so am I"
"Oh"
"Well a little advice..Use the LFG option, maybe even ask in Trade...don't randomly send /w to everybody who is a possible tanking class...ESPECIALLY because you are a warrior yourself. Also, stop annoying everybody in my premade."

It was funny ^_^

I want to know what's up with all the weird vendors in weird places? For example, that engineering supply guy in alterac mountains. Captured by ogres and locked in a cage yet still willing to sell me copper tubes. Or how about that guy on the top floor of one of the buildings in raven hill? I bet he gets a lot of customers.

they have certain limited items that are not available elsewhere

the alterec guy has ice oil

the other fellow has this engineering item for 10 secs of ACTUAL invisibility [though you can only see other invisible people or people who see invisibility]

Theres also one in hinterlands, he's the most fun to get to and so out of the way that you'll never find him. I found him because i wanted to jump and run in that place.

At least there are related quests in ravenholdt. so you might find that fellow.

ANd you might run into the gnome in the cage while getting herbs or killing those yetis

the one in hinter has a eng recipe you only find on him as well.
