This isn't really a rant or a B**ch session, I'm mostly just kidding around. Bored at work.
Why izzit:
...If I need to kill X amount of a certain type of monster, and theres a plentiful supply of that kind of beast running around a certain area, that they seem to instantly stop respawning when I'm only 1 or 2 away from achieving my goal? Its frustrating. Especially when the area is also full of other creatures that can kill my character so I'm trying to hurry up and get outta there.
...Or I need to kill a certain number of a kind of creature and they are in moderate numbers. But luckily no one else is around the area they spawn in so I can get my quota and move on. But as soon as I start about 8 other people show up and begin wiping them out. I can almost gaurantee that if I come back after this quest no one will be there, but as soon as I need this spawn its alluva sudden like Dec. 24th at the mall.
...I read a post somewhere once called "wolves with pants"somewhere, and I found it quite interesting. The gist of it was how can a creature that would have no nead for certain things have these items on them? I really had to wonder that when I killed a wolf on one of my low level characters a day ago and got some gauntlets and copper coins out of it. Its a wolf, for pete's sake! Was he wearing gloves? Was he carrying lunch money?
...People wanting to start a guild start simply scrolling down the /who list and sending invites? I mean, you don't know me. why would you want to invite me to your guild before you even know if I'm an okay guy? (This was a really sore point in CoH, since the "guild" got "money" for each player that joined.) I always appreciate someone asking me first with a /tell, but some guy asked me 4 times last night! Each time it was the same nicely asked questioned "Would you like to join my guild?". My answers got more surly as time went on. It started as "No, thanks, appreciate the offer." to "No", to "You asked me already, dude, no." to finally "STOP!". The last time I was thinking maybe its some kind of bot, but he replied "Oh, sorry. NP.".
...Someone wants to duel you but they are 10 levels higher. WTF is the point in that? Face the music, if you challenge someone to a duel that you can't possibly lose, you're pretty lame. There's really no way around it. Strangely some level 50 guy asked to duel my level 63 Warlock a few nights ago. I turned him down, but I wondered why he wanted to duel with someone 13 lvels higher....
...That after a long run/flight to a location (that can get pretty boring) just when I engage the enemy I've been looking for, my wife always comes in the room and wants to talk to me. Its always at that point when the fight begins too, so that I can't really divide my attention. This always leads to the "You're not paying attention to me" speech. (and its almost always about some story of someone she works with that I don't even freaking know....) Of course, I can always choose to just die, but then I have to go through that long run again from the graveyard....and she's only going to start yakkin' once I rez anyway. This also happens with phone calls, and its never anything terribly important...its like the caller simply wants to kill your character.
...that Stitches can fit in a normal sized door? during one of his attacks he chased my level 25 hunter into the inn. there were hardly and player characters in duskwood at the time but i figured he'd spend some time beating on the guard NPCs while I regrouped. Nahh, he followed me in the building! Hey! He's like 15 feet tall! How'd he get in the freaking door!? (The best part is he killed me and attacked Commander Ebonlocke who instantly calls for help...yet she stood there unmoving when Stitches monkey stomped me on the street. Heck, he killed me so fast I think my characters on other servers took equipment damage. Even the ones in City of Heroes)
