Getting bored at 63Follow

I'm a 63 rogue on Illidan, and I have to admit I'm getting quite sick of questing. I like doing instances but pretty much all my guild is level 70 now. I find it really hard to find a group to do the Zangarmarsh instances with me. I'm gonna go nuts if I have to do another quest that involves collecting mushroom, or killing x number of mobs. I really want to get to 70, because I think doing high end instances and raids would be alot of fun, but I don't want to spend the 40 hours or whatever it will take for me to get to 70.

What else can I do to try to make this game a little more interesting? I'm starting to think about quitting because I can think of a lot more fun things I can do with time.

I was under the impression that the level 70s usually ended up still needing to run lower level instances for rep.

If your guild's mostly at 70, why cant they help you out with running instances? Im sure there are a few members that havent completely gotten their fill of the places you havent seen, or most importantly wouldnt be willing to help out.

Otherwise you might be stuck, Im sorry if you are so bored that you might quit! How did you make it to 60 in the first place? Not trying to be rude or anything, just curious!

Bad Guild, Bad Guild help all your members out.

Make a post at your Guild Forums asking for some help in the instance you need. Do the request about 3 days ahead of time so folks can see it and hopefully sign up for it.

Actually, I quit playing WoW about a year ago at level 52 for the same reason. I decided to pick it up again to check out BC. My brother helped me get to level 60, but for some reason he doesn't offer to help me any more since he hit 70. I guess I'll try asking my guild more, but they always just seemed to be involved with raids/heroic instances.

Yeah, I have to admit this was my first thought reading the OP as well. Has it just been so long that you don't remember what grinding was like? Or is it worse than the 1-60 grind?

I've been lucky, though my guild is above me, I have a couple friends that will help me out on the slow grinding quests.

I also took a long break before TBC, so I still have lots of stuff to do in Azeroth still that is fun when you're a little higher (64 right now). 3-man Strat is fun!

I wish i could find any group for strat! I only need 2 more skins of shadow to complete the quest for my hunters epic leggings. I know i know, everyones in the outlands, I guess im the only person who didnt buy the expansion yet...

Either way, it really frustrates me that I just can find ONE group!

It's like I hear myself talking. My main is stuck at 63 in Zangarmarsh. I get so sick of trying to grind another number of mobs for those stinky cenarion druids (no offense) or Trolls. Trying to do PvP quests that are utterly futile because of faction imbalance... bah! Perhaps I expected too much from Outland to begin with

Hellfire was great! There's a war going on, demons need to be bombed and stopped and the atmosphere is great. I had high hopes for the rest... I must admit the new areas look interesting but it's just more of the same. Zangarmarsh sucks, I hate mushrooms. Couldn't blizz find anything else besides huge mushrooms? I feel like f***ing Mario. I can't push myself to do those quests. I hit 60 because I was getting real close - fast and (like Caedicus) still had a guild who could help me out. Plus, I liked the plaguelands a lot :)
I'm not getting the feeling I'm in Outland for a reason other than because there's nothing else to do at 60. A flying mount? Sure, so I can fly around in an area where I don't really want to be. I don't know...
Nagrand pleases me, though... but probably because it looks more like Azeroth. For some reason Zangarmarsh is just too weird to fit into WoW - but that is purely my own opinion, I don't want to put people off.

Tip for Caedicus: Get the hell out of there! You can go to Terrokar or even Nagrand at that level. Just skip the wretched mushrooms and Sporeggar. I'm currently engaged in levelling some chars I neglected before BC and forming a new guild with people who still have things to do in Azeroth. I'll get to 70 some day :) but not soon...

This is not meant to be a whining post btw, it's all just how I experienced it, I know I'm one of few - I totally like the new races and such though

Then find a new guild, forget that!
Im sure there are a TON of guilds on your server that would welcome you with open arms and help ya out, as you would be helping them out at the same time.

My level 55 Warlock is bored at the moment (you can tell because she's carving her initials into the forehead of her imp). It seems that whenever I'm about to get a group for The Sunken Temple, where she needs six quests or so, I have to eat or go to work or the group falls apart.

Meh, perhaps I should just transfer her and let my friend take me through that thing. She owes me from the time we duo'd the instance with her Druid and my Druid (54 and 64).

at that time of level, xp is not that much big when killing a certain monster which is with the same or a little bit higher level than yours..and you have to take a much more xp to fill up your experience bar...on that time me too get so bored and it comes to the point that i think i wanted to quit the game but, i think quiting the game is not a good idea to do..all you have to do is seek some help to your friends that will covers your level bracket, some body in your guild..there are many solution that you may do..seek somebody who can help you, after all i think you'll find one out of that thousands of population on w0w

you could always take a break for a week or two or create an alt for a bit.

<---Caedicus's brother.

It is unfortunate that we are both Rogues...all I can really do is help kill stuff. Most 5-mans don't want two Rogues, even if I am 70. But anyways, I didn't know you were getting so bored. Just let me know and I can help you out a little.

I am a lot different, I actually like solo questing. I like exploring different areas of the zone and seeing what it has to offer. Also, if you want to speed up the process, looking up the quests on here before you do them helps make things go real fast when you know exactly where to go and what to do. Zangramarsh does suck though and it gets a little better once you are out. Particularly in Nagrand where you can take a break from the grind and PvP for Halaa a bit. I just find it really really boring to just kill stuff and not be progressing towards my goals (elite flying mount, better gear, completing every quest in outlands). But I'll try to help you out a little bit each night. You will like 70 better because you can quest/PvP/run instances. But there still is a lot of grinding for certain things...and even instances become a grind if you do them too much.

Some other things:
You can always ask in general if someone want to group up and do quests with you or grind with you.

Both of us don't really know the guild that well so we don't talk too much. While there are a lot of the hardcore raiders, they actually have a lot of casuals in there too. And most of the hardcore raiders have alts that need to run the lower stuff. Just try asking in guild chat if anyone wants to do whatever. And maybe post this in their forums as someone else mentioned...there may be others that feel like you do and want to group up to make things a little more fun.

The higher level you get it seems to actually get easier to level even though there is more exp to go. There are more quests to do in the middle range (63-66) and once you get a few more levels, those quests become fast and easy for good exp.

But ultimately, you do tend to get bored with games quicker than I do and WoW may not be the right crack for you. You could always go back to Eve (hahahahaha, kidding). In any case, I'll try to help out a little more and you can give me all your gold :D

My friend and I both play Rogues, and we have no problem with invites. The trick? Have a Holy Priest on hand and an alt Warrior of equal level, makes things easy Smiley: lol

And I would agree with the idea of changing guilds.

I'd suggest you quit crying and level up. It's so freaking easy it's disgusting.

Spending 40 hours to have 1000 hours of fun later doesn't seem so bad to me.

Sure people don't want to take a level 63 when everyone else is 70 and they could easily get a level 70 person who wants to go for the rep and NEEDS it instead of some slacker who just wants to go and leech off them.

Maybe if you hadn't quit for such a long time you'd have more friends willing to help you out.

Yes, this is harsh, but it's the reality of the situation.

Less QQ, more pew-pew!

Take a break. It could be a long one, or a short one. Go outside. Do something different than playing computer/console games. Nobody is chaining you to your chair and making you play. Don't delete your characters, though. At some time in the future, you'll think about WoW with the fondness that time away makes (you remember the good times, and forget the bad). When that happens, you'll want to play your rogue again.
