Well I guess I have been lucky.
I soloed from 0-60 Warrior in two months and have done little else so far.
At level 48 Staff of Jordan dropped (sold for 450g) and one week later at
lvl52 Ring of Saviours dropped (sold for 150g).
It certainly changes your outlook on the game, instant addiction!.
Three more weeks have passed and I am starting to wonder why my 3rd epic hasn't dropped yet :)

Edit... I should mention that I prefered to grind rather than quest for EXP

I just want to say that these are the two epics that have dropped for me when soloing, seen several grouped.
At level 42 I got a Staff of Jordan off STV trolls and just last week I was doing some quests in the Searing Gorge and got the ring. Mine sold for 350g and 110g.

Shmii found Wall of the Dead from one of the harpies in N-W Feralas.
(Caused some drama in guild. ;;)
And then Nightblade (some poor stats two-handed sword, think that was name) from a Whelp in Badlands.
And then some other poor stats two-handed swords that was a little higher level in a group in Zul Farrak. (Won greed roll)
Forgot name. Something like Nightblade as well. :/

Congrats, you lucky man. I'd say sell it, and use the money for other items you will find more... useful. Smiley: boozing

It's been a good week for lucky drops! I got boots of avoidance off some waterthief near gadgetzen just this last monday...I'm VERY happy (too bad they never sell >-<). Congrats on your luck shining for you! I am also happy to hear you encountered a friendly opposite faction player...they seem so rare.

Sorry but am not going to be censoring names.
(Btw Shmii's Rogue's name is Amoxicillin)

Can see in screenshot Nilaa asking where it dropped. It's the guild leader. After Nilaa asked, was quiet for a while (suspect looking it up), then Nilaa said (unfortunatly not visible on screenshot, at the time was more aiming to get picture of drop) "Except it doesn't drop there." Shmii looked it up later just to check if maybe this was first Wall of the Dead drop in that area ever, and found that Thottbot.com did not list Feralas harpies as possibility but Allakhazam.com did.

Now when this person said what they said they left no room for doubt that they were maybe implying Shmii was kidding or just messing around like people do sometimes just for fun. They meant to say Shmii was lying.

Was not a good feeling when guild leader would just accuse like that.
Later there was another argument between Shmii and guild leader. Was about something silly, too. In short: Someone left guild suddenly. GL says "Oh well, person was ignorant anyway." Shmii asks "How do you mean ignorant?" because it was an odd statement. GL says "Yes he never responded to tells or wanted to do things with the guild." Explained ignorant doesn't mean to ignore but to be uninformed but GL made it clear that s/he could not be wrong and Shmii should accept this, ending with something like "...now you know, chew on it a little, think it over and let it go."

Thought this was not a person whose guild Shmii wanted to be in so went to guild forum and linked 3 different detailed screenshots of the drop including mobinfo shot, Allakhazam's information on it, linked dictionary.com's definition of "ignorance", quoted GL's arrogant statement and said goodbye. Never looked back.

Gratz!

The only epic that ever dropped for me was a pair of [Stonerender Gauntlets] from some naga in Azshara while I was playing Shaman. I was just tickled that it was something I could actually use! I'm still wearing them. :D

If you're Alliance and it hasn't sold yet, try the neutral auction houses. The +6 str isn't any good for a hunter, and the mail isn't good for warriors with their eyes on plate at that level... but those shoulders will be great for an enhancement shaman.

Edit: Just don't tell them about the potentially free BoP Herod's Shoulders . Nevertheless, the skeletals seem to sell pretty well horde-side.

Guild leaders tend to think that everyone will nod and smile to their authority. I had a ***** of a time keeping guilds when the leaders were drop-dead stupid. For instance, I had a guild while I was in my 40's. I made it up to 48 or so, and was still doing SM runs now and then to help my guild, totalling about 5 full runs through with no exp or drops for me.

Later that night, I need another member for ZF. The guild leader fits the classes we need, and he's just farming around, level 51. I ask him to come, and he snaps back that I "never do anything for the guild".

I inform him that I had done SM several times to help out our high-30's. On top of that, I had been crafting armor for a few warriors in the guild. The leader, however, was a rogue. And continued to insist that I was just leeching the guild.

I told him I helped the guild, I just didn't help him directly. He managed to say that, if I'm asking for him to come, helping him is the only thing would have mattered. I asked him when the last time he helped anyone was. He didn't have an answer to that.

It's a shame, that guild is still pretty active on my server, too. Apparently the leader had a few competent friends who joined and carry things. He's still "guild leader", though he doesn't lead any raids and is geared below-average. He does, however, brag about how "his" guild does MC, ZG, and AQ20 weekly.

The hell am I replying to? This thread wasn't about this. Ah well. I've seen epics drop, I just never get them.

On an unrelated note I bought that ring on Thrall last night for 200 gold. I was one happy warrior. Word of advice though, don't put it up for 200 gold with a 400 gold buyout thinking that surely more than one person will bid on it :D

Oh and grats man. Cheers to you and your good fortune.

Grats on the drop! With the expansion coming so soon, I highly recommend selling it. You'd be replacing it soon anyways, so you won't get much value out of it. Also, cash will be king going into the expansion, which is why I'm auctioning off all my bank assets. I doubt current enchanting mats, arcanite, mooncloth, etc, will be as valuable in the x-pac.

I kind of realized both parts. I was hoping the stamina would be enough to encourage them. We'll see. Even if I only get 10-15g, I'll still be very pleased.

It's wierd to be on a new server. I no longer have multiple 60's to feed my new toons when they need something. Refreshing in some ways, and frustrating in others.

Thanks for the tip - I'll try the neutral AH when I get home.

Oddly enough my first Anethorin BOE blue was also a Horde item This isn't exactly a big ticket item Alliance side.

I'll have to try the Neutral AH and hope some Warrioresque Shaman is looking.

my first boe epic were also stonerender gauntlets in azshara. it was my first char, at around lvl45. i've had several other boe drops since, some while solo (destiny for example), some while grouped. i won some (ardent custodian), lost some.

last week a hand of endward the odd dropped off the trash mobs between twin emps and c'thun :-D there was quite some laughter when the log showed "raidleader receives: [hand of edward the odd]". that will improve our raid bank a tad.

I haven't had a BoE Epic, but had a few good BoE Rares so far. I used to farm SFK regularly until I could farm SM, and I hit the lottery a few times. I got Shadowfang twice- the first selling for 200 gold, and the second selling for 40. For a level 19 weapon that's insane, but twinks were paying a premium for it at the time. I also got an Assassin's Blade, Black Malice and Guillotine Axe. I know, not exactly a world drop, but it was like winning the lottery. I've gotten around five Rare world drops, although I don't remember all of them off the bat. I do remember the lowest went for about 15G, while the highest went for 90G.

When I'm in actual instances, however, I always seem to get the crappiest rolls. I guess luck has a way of evening itself out.

Oh how I love world epic drops! Gratz on yours Mazra. I've had 4 in the two years I've played:

1: Bow of Searing Arrows in Tanaris from a Scorpid - went to guildie rogue I was grouped with because I'm nice.
2: Precisely Calibrated Boomstick in Tanaris from another bug - went to guildie hunter I was grouped with because I'm nice.
3: Taran Icebreaker in Feralas at Dire Maul entrance - sold to guildie with Icy enchant for 80 gold.
4: Bloodrazor from Succubus in Felwood - won roll against said guildie who got the Bow from me, sold in AH for a pretty penny.

Funny how half those came from Tanaris bugs. I hate bugs, but maybe I should rethink that. Oh, and I'd sell the ring. Those sell for a ton on my server and never stay in the AH.
