i mean come on, we had the big hulking things, with hooves that stand on 2 of them, and have developed hands look perfected. then those stupid celestial beings had to like the look of cows then change it to thier likeing, then take the form of it. stupid celestials, why couldnt they look like blood elves, or some more human-like thing, and we get another awsome looking race. anyone agree or disagree?

P.S. the wood is set, now all we need is a match (incase you didnt get that, it means let the flaming begin =P)

edit: lots and lots of spelling corrections

Q. A lot of players speculated that you would create an "ugly" race for the Alliance to balance out the "beautiful" Blood Elves for the Horde in order to help balance out the overall faction balance in the game. Is that so?

A. I’ve heard that a lot, that we would make an ugly Alliance race to make more people play Horde. But we can’t tank a race. We can’t say, "Let’s make it ugly so people won’t play it." We want to make everything in this game as cool as possible. Our goal is to make something that people want to spend hours and hours playing.

But the artists’ take on the Draenei was very interesting. If you look at the silhouettes of the night elves, dwarves, humans and gnomes, they really wanted to create an interesting profile of the Draenei so that in a group shot you would have this big beefy guy on their side, which they didn’t have before. The Horde obviously had that with the Tauren, and the Alliance knew the fear of having this big Tauren running up to them with the big head and the big feet and so on, and we wanted to give that sense of intimidation to the other side.

I actually like the look of the Dranei. The Alliance has far too many little people and faeries as player classes; I prefer to play combat classes over cleric or mage classes, and prefer the big, hulking races for that purpose (ogres, minotaurs, half-giants, etc.)

Sure, they're ugly. And that's the coolest part of them.

I have a feeling thier will be a bit of a Tauren Vs Dranei feud going to happen. Clash of the Titans kind of thing.

Tauren FTW! :)

Ok the poster of this thread says dreanei look like celestial tauren but um i really dont see that much resemblence. What they look like more is Galka from FFXI. Their figure is really close to them.
They got the tail and stuff. Galka are a little larger though

All the playable races somewhat resemble humans. Dranei are no different, plus they get tails;-). We know that Blizz likes balance; the allies need a big hulking race too.
