Hey,

Does anyone here know a link or a tutorial on how you can communicate and chat with members of the opposing faction? I've seen alliance do it to me before.

I've seen alliance say way more complex sentences and paragraph's then that. So there has to be a way.

Opposing faction do not understand custom emotes. They just see you making strange gestures.
The most effective way to communicate with the Alliance is with a /spit.
Alternately, you can use a /point followed by a /rofl and then followed up with a stealth, cheapshot, and backstab.
If you're feeling nice, you can /flirt, /lick, and /dance with them...and then /bye and high-tail it out of there.

I understand there are some interesting combinations people have discovered to say things like, "I love you" and "Why are you here" and "lol" across faction. This has been discussed in other threads, but I've lost interest and would rather just use the pre-built emotes at this point (if anything).

There are some basic ways for communication between the two factions.

I recently made a mage on a new PvP server, and I joined a group for BFD. We didn't have the flight path yet, so we all had to walk there. The other 3 were in Ashenvale, and I was still in the Barrens.

From what I gathed in the party speak, they all happened upon a NE rogue around our level, and they all attacked it. The rogue took all 3 of them down.

They all ressed at the same time and tried again. They all died again.

By the time I got there, their ghosts were hovering over their bodies wondering what to do. I just sheeped the rogue, threw all my spells at it, froze, blink, threw some more, and they didn't res and join in till it was almost dead.

Anyways, you're wondering what relevance this has to this topic, right? Well, the NE rogue came back and ressed again, then it stealthed into the woods somewhere, we never found it. But it had a macro or something that it kept hitting that yelled in common "me love you" Well, that's what it looked like to the horde anyways. Also, it was oddly spaced... more like "m e l ov e y ou" or something.

So I guess there are ways of communication, but it probably takes so much time that it's not worth it.

The easiest way is to roll a Priest, Mind Control a member of the opposing faction, and proceed to use custom emotes. While under your control, they can read your custom emotes. It's fun to freak them out a little bit if they don't expect it.

i have actually communicated with a horde lock i believe when i was lvl 30 something i had a quest to do from Ashenvale or something in the horde territory (get a head from someone) and i got lost in the lands by ashenvale and ran into this 60 lock (i was on shadowmoon at the moment alliance NE Hunter). We started dancing and all that and i thought he could understand me so i was talking to him and then all of a sudden i saw a whisper he said i cant understand you i said oh what do i do to talk to you he said only thing is whisper. I added the person that i was getting whispered from to friends and it was a lvl 1 hunter alliance this must have be some kind of Addon/Mod because he took me through the entire horde land and back and told others not to attack me it was an interesting experience. I gained a lot more respect for horde after that.

thanks and hope you can make something of my insight

Yep! It uses something called a Grab Bag to emulate a real language instead of the commonly-believed substitution cipher.

Last night my friend was walking around with a priest and they found some alliance person. Well, the priest mind controled and my friend made a custom emote telling him his guild's vent information.

I thought it was pretty funny

Sometimes if you space out all the letters it works, not always.

Every now and then I see stuff like "H O R D E S U C K S !" and "y ou lo se".

Blizz did a good job on making it hard to talk to the opposing faction. o.o

The one communication I had with an Alliance involved a Rogue (I'm also a Rogue). I was trying to figure out how to complete the Ravenholdt quest and beating my head against the stupid chest. I picked that lock a good half dozen times and beating Milton each time with nothing to show for it. An Alliance Rogue showed up, waved at me and proceeded to beat his head into the chest and we teamed up to work Milton over a few times before I got fed up. I went off to the side, logged off and looked up the quest (on this site, of course) and figured out what I needed to do to complete it. Logged back on and detected traps on the chest (the correct answer). I didn't get the completion right away and figured I might have read something wrong. I started to leave the cave again when the Alliance Rogue picked the lock yet again. I want back over to help him out and saw that I had completed the quest.

I whistled to the Alliance Rogue and when he turned toward me, I cast detect traps again on the chest. It took him a minute or so to figure out what I was doing and then he cast detect trap. I let him stand there for a few seconds before I whistled to him again. I had him follow me out of the cave, then follow me back in. As soon as he got near the chest again I knew he got the completion because he started dancing around.

We both went up to Fahrad and turned in the quest, saluted each other and went on about our merry way.

Sign language and gestures are also decent ways of communicating when there is nothing else.

ok guys im going to clear all this up, my brother and i worked on this for about 3 hours, saying one letter then writing down what it was and what we concluded was that they have some sayings that are fixed like "lol"="Bur" ect. but when some letters were used like say F it would come out to be a G and then when we did another F it was a B so....it has to be random some words that we said like "Hi" turned out to be "ur" once and "jc" another time its totally random im thinking that there is no way to break it
