I think something's wrong. I'm getting the write-off excuse of being behind a firewall and can't even get off the ground.

I look forward to the Allakhazam mirror.

I've never in my year of playing wow ever had a problem downloading a patch, either from Blizzard or Allakhazam.

Took me about 5 minutes to download patch 1.9.

I hate you. Smiley: glare

Over the course of 5 hours I finally reached 96% and then it just stopped downloading. I kept it up for the last hour and achieved nothing other than other people sucking up my bandwidth downloading the patch from me. After the mirrors were finally posted it took all of 10 minutes to download the entire thing. Bleh.

Same issues here. I cannot download from the premium allakhazam site. I've tried from home (768k) and from work (full T-1) and downloads crash at 10-15mb. Why pay for the premium, if this does not work any better than blizzard patcher?

Best way to streamline the download is to make sure all incoming and outgoing ports are open. If you are on dial-up then this is automatic usually... although I feel sorry for you. If you are on cable/dsl/t1/etc then you need to check any firewalls on your PC are not blocking the ports (these are usually listed for you on the blizzard downloader client, I don't know them off the top of my head since Im at work). In windows XP sp2 (if it is your only firewall) it is easy, go to control panel > firewall settings > exceptions > add new exception. Other firewalls you need to check into the help file on your specific one. Also, if you have a router you need to go onto the router and specify the internal IP of which ever computer is doing the download, and tell your router to specifically route all incoming TCP/UDP connections on the port(s) (again, get it from the blizz client) through to that computer.

If you need more help let me know and I can try to help you more, either reply on here or hit me up on AIM at Pbrundogg and I'll do my best to help you out.

I am very aware of ports and their issues, as I am a network engineer for my company, (kinda handy). I can assure you that I have never had an issue with downloading patches from allakhazam before, but today, dowloads are stopping mid-stream, allakhazam pages are timing out. I'm not having this issue with any other website. I'm not having this issue with fileplanet.

The issues that others are having,

timouts at 59%

froze at 25%

and so on, are a allakhazam problem.

I was talkin about for the blizz patcher. I haven't used allakhazam's patch yet (since I've been at work all day, am a network admin/computer technician, also handy ^_^) but the fact that tons of people may be trying to download at once should be a pretty likely culprit.

I agree though, why pay for premium just to get the patch if it doesn't work? However I'm paying for a slew of features, one feature that I shouldn't even have to pay for would be this site to work correctly when I try to visit it though. To those who run this site, just a suggestion but you should consider getting more bandwidth by whatever means you can. I am pretty happy with the premium service other than the connection issue today, have found it quite useful in making my time in WoW which can be very infrequent more fun and more productive.

UPDATE: I finally had to go to file planet and download the patch. I couldn't get it here, I couldn't get it from blizzard and downloaded it from fileplanet in 45 min (non-subscribing customer)...

One of the services I pay for here at allakhazam is premium download. I love all the other stuff, don't get me wrong. But, shouldn't I get what I pay for?
