Well, I got onto my main (Naoki) on Skywall. Ran a raid through LBRS just fine, and decided I would go to EPL to farm Bat Eyes. I got disconnected mid-flight with a "Critical Error" message. I kept trying to log on; no luck, same problem. I would get 2/3 through the loading bar, and then I'd get the critical error. Blah.

I could get on my alts, so I played my level 5 Warlocks to level 6. Fire alarm in my dorm, so I logged off. No luck getting onto my server at all. So it was back to Aureliano on Eredar. I got into AV, and was having fun, then I just got disconnected. Can't get onto anything now; I'm stuck at handshaking.

Time to do work instead ^_^

YES! It IS that important. =)

jk, but this is starting to get annoying. I had off, the first day off I've had in three weeks, just wanted to sit down and play WoW all day, but noooooo.

OK, everytime Blizzard does a patch there are problems. My problem is that the new versions don't seem to be adequately tested, and all of the paying game players get to be beta testers for a few days (or longer).

My main problem with this is never discussed. In North America alone, there are over 1,000,000 people subscribed, paying $15.00 a month, that leaves them with $15,000,000 a month to adequately test the servers and make sure everything works. Not an easy task at all, don't get me wrong. It must be quite difficult. But with all of that money (not to mention what people have paid for the game) this just should not be happening.

I got on earlier in the day, no problem. This evening I just keep reentering my password and wait, rinse, repeat... Or is that wash, rinse, repeat?

Please search my posts for whines about why Blizzard never updates the game. I get my pasty body out plenty during daylight hours at my job thank you. I understand that new patches cannot be tested to the degree that live programs require, however, even the blizzard forums are down. Shouldn't this indicate a problem to blizzard?

I am basically in the same situation, first day off I have had in ages, and yes it irks me that I can't get in as well, but I can always find something else to do, like clean up all the empty beer bottles and pizza cartons in the kitchen, I am tired of waiting for them to grow legs and walk out the door on their own.

The poster above is a prime example of what I am getting at.

Whining about levels of service, but would also be the first to whine if the game was never updated.

I work in a fast paced production environment. If we get our improvements wrong we can expect to lose thousands of customers. This is why these things are tested over and over again. Why can't I expect the same level of service from another internationalbusiness?

Is WOW really that important to you that it ruins your whole day if you can't play it? If so I think you may have to re-evaluate some things in your life.

I don't believe my post portrayed anything of the sort. Obviously your profiling skills leave a little to be desired.

Search the forums? I have no desire to search for any of your posts.

I am sure Blizzard are aware of the problem and are working on it, so I am not sure what your point is.

Whining about something as insignifigant as not being able to play a game, gives me a fair idea about your profile.

Yeah Im sure there working on it too, so why not post - "Hey you cant log on for awhile" instead of lying "Just sit there and waste your time going through delayed log on steps that inevitably end up in d/c" is what they should post if they want to be honest. Apparently with 1000000 customers worldwide forking over 14$ a month they cant afford competent testing.

WOW! After about three hours blizzard has realized there is a problem and is working hard on it. When I set up a network, I know within minutes (thanks to HP Openview) when there is a problem, but then I've been in the IT arena for about 17 years. It happens. As far as the previous poster; why aren't you playing wow onstead of here? Is everything peachy with your wow experience?

did anyone notice something else? the ppl that tell the truth about blizz' are all getting rated down? Does the ppl on this forum feel more threatened by ppl asking REAL questions, giving real feelings that they have to always rate them down? We pay good money for this service, now all the other games are raising thier rates to match wow.. IF we as consumers allow them to get by, no the idiots that rate down on ppl telling the truth are actully supporting the big wigs that just want your money, to use your butt... you think your being cool? your being stupid, acting like blind sheep!

We cant get on because there are so many ppl paying blizz money and blizz aint providing the bandwith for us to get on... thats it, simply.. we are NOT getting what we pay for.

In the begginning Blizz would offer us extra days of play when they made mistakes, or lacked in service, but there are enough idiots sticking up for everything they do that they have gotten arrogant in thier lack of service.

Why can't you expect the same level of service?

Because your a part of a different business with different clientel(sp?).

Why is it that everyone assumes that the business that YOU work at is like the business you deal with?

Short version of the whole thing: They do it because they can. They do it because the numbers do NOT decrease significantly when things like this happen. Want to change that? Quit. Maybe enough people will do it so that they DO decide to change. Until then, tough luck.

I don't mean to be rude or sound mean but its the garsh-darn truth that people seem to miss.

Very true and nicely put. It isn't as if they don't know we can't log in. Give me a break.

Oh, and not to be nit picky, there are over 4,000,000 worldwide. 1,000,000 in North America.

In addition, to those of you who have posted about how "important" it is for some of us to play the game, and that we must not have a life, etc. Why are you even reading this thread?

Some of us really enjoy this game. In addition, the new patch really upgraded my druid skills and I have yet to test them.

If WoW is important to some people, makes people happy playing, spend time all day drudging through work waiting to have some fun, let them. And if they want to complain that the game they paid for, and continue to pay for isn't working is only fair. It's also called freedom of speech.

Isn't it also freedom of speech for me to express my opinion of them or does that door only swing one way for you?

Heh, I got rated down for mentioning that I can usually get into the Realms Forums when the rest of the Blizz boards are kaputt. No value judgments about Blizz there at all, just something I've noticed.

Somebody's sphincter must be close to causing a singularity. *lmao*

The only thing funner than the "OMGWTF BLIZZ U SUXX0R!" hysterics are the "OMGWTF BLIZZ PLZ LET ME HAVE UR BABIEZZ" reactionaries.

Popcorn, anyone? ;)

I wasn't referring to you at all. You had a decent point.

I guess ANTDrakko is right. I am living in a world of sugar and spice if I think that all business' want/ are able to provide excellent levels of service all of the time.

But hey, we're all frustrated by it and need to vent with other frustrated players! If this upsets forum readers, just return to the forum index and read something else.

If you get to the main login page in the WoW client, it looks like they tagged on a nice message at around 6:10pm that they know people are having trouble and they're looking to try to solve it.

Hey, no problem there. I just like to know that people, at some point in time, slowly begin to realize the truth and don't let those frustrations turn them into blumbering idiots that I see all-too-often in this game.

Kas, I got the 1.8 update from Filefront here (which I linked directly from the WoW site). I got it d/l in about 5 minutes on broadband.
