I have decided i would like to purchase a Mechano-Strider as a mount in 2 levels when i hit 40, however i am a dwarf and so they ask me to be a step above honerable (i cant remember the name of it) with the Gnomeregan Exiles. I am about 1/3 of the way through honerable with the quests ive done. Is there an area with more quests? or should i just go back to Gnomeregan and slaughter? (i have done all the quests i could find for the Gnomeregan instance)
Only gnomes can have that mount.

I thought anyone could ride any mount, but only with specific training which was fairly hard to achieve?

Most of the mounts are ridable by all except taurens... the other day on my gnome it listed the strider as ridable by gnomes and dwarves.
Im almost 100% positive you can use any mount of you alliance, given you have the right reputation, except the robo turkey.
Ill see if I cant find the link on the main page.
EDIT: Yeah poor taurens only get kodo's. I'd really like to see a tauren on the poor back of a raptor.

The last I had read stated you had to have exalted faction which is actually 2 levels above honored and currently impossible to obtain.
As a side note, through some questing and research I may have found a way that they are currently unaware of. The basis of the majority of your faction comes from quests completed for a certain faction. Ie: I do a quest from Stormwind I get Stormwind faction. I have found on occaison slaying certain mobs does cause a faction message in your combat window; but based on my faction work, that was required by a quest, the number, if you could locate the mobs to do it with, would be nearly countless.

Exalted is actually after revered, which comes after honored. At the moment I would say it's fairly impossible to reach exalted, unless you're a human with exalted in Stormwind. Blizzard has said they are working on remedying this within the next few patches.
There are currently no mobs in game that raise main faction reputation. The messages in your chatlog are probably for the Steemwheedle Cartel or similar factions (like Argent Dawn).
And not all races can ride all mounts within their alliance. Mechanostriders are available only to gnomes and dwarves, but all Alliance races can ride rams, horses, and nightsabers. You can find more detailed mount information here.

Whether this is a rumor or not, i don't know. But i would take it as a good enough reason to buy the ram in the meantime.

A nice feature of the new patch is the NPC's all have their allegiance listed under their name. Often you will that the quest you pick up in Stormwind is given by an "Ironforge" or "Darnassus" listed NPC, therefore raising your rep with them not the city where you picked it up.
This goes double for the Horde, as they seem to intermingle much more than Alliance. When you quest in the crossroads its hard to tell just who your questing for.
Anyway see who is listed as being part of Gnomergan Exiles and then do their quests wherever they may hide.

Actually there are mobs you can kill to raise faction. I'm not sure if there are any for regular races, but killing raiders in Stranglethorn raises faction slightly with Booty Bay.

Well, sounds like its pretty unsure, and most likely not possible. Going to play around a bit and see if i can find some info myself if i ever manage to log on without server crashes or 2 hour Q's. Thanks for the info though.
