Nope! Whatever you're seeing can be chalked up to coincidence or anomoly.
The crafting system in EQ1 was based on a primary character stat influencing each crafting skill but for EQ2 that posed a problem since SOE's stated desire was for any class or race to be equally adept at any skill... They wanted all things to truly be equal and for everyone to start on a level playing field.
So, in EQ2, the only thing that affects your skill is your relative ability at that craft. The higher level you craft at the better you get at crafting that kind of item and the easier it is for you to do.
Even the size of your power pool can not be used to advantage since trade skill buffs use a percentage of your pool for each buff and not a fixed amount of power.
A level playing field...
