New system will now play WOWFollow

This attunable stuff is pretty cs. Just bought a dell xps gen4 to play eqII. Now I will purchase WOW for it and leave the collectors edition eqII alone

Why go for WoW if you do not like attuned stuff? Good equipment in WoW is soulbound (=attunable), can't be used by another character after you equipped it.

can i have your stuff?

Shadowrelm I have to wonder if you're in a guild. One thing I'll say about EQ2, it does make a huge difference to be in a good guild.

I love EQ2 so far I dont know what the point in giving WoW a shot is considering this game has so much to offer.

ofcourse quests only give little xp at lvl 30+.. How fun would it be if you progressed as fast from lvl 30 to lvl 40 as you did from lvl 1 to lvl 10?
Do you have a clue on how much content and quest you would miss if you got 5% xp per quest at lvl 30?
I still earn all my xp from questing (and some exploring) at lvl 38. Havent done a single grind so far!

And for me (this far) its been one helluva fun journey and from what I hear for my friends the game doesnt even compare to the fun at lvl 40+!

I keep active accounts on both games, for the occasional change of pace.

The fact that WoW's equip is soul-bound isn't as relevant as in EQ. I'ts easier and cheaper to keep your equipment updated and usefull in WoW. Not only that, in addition to my own gear I always seem to have plenty to share and sell. I feel like I get a very nice flow of usefull equipment from the quests. EQ2 isn't like that, I am way behind in equipment.

I never really understood why people bust on WoW's graphics so hard. Photo-realistic doesn't equal better. We all have those favorite games from the past that we go back to every once in a while - not because the graphics were awesome - but because the game was fun. Wow got a lot of things right and, well it's fun. EQ2 got some things right too...but the fun factor is diminished by the little things that people whine about here on the boards all the time. One of my favorite things about Wow is the incredible variety of starting locations. Something EQ used to have. The isle of refuge ... sigh... booooooring. Want to start a new character? ready to redo all the same quests in freeport or queynos? all 400 of them?

Someone above complained about nothing to do at lvl 60 and the first thing I thought of was PvP. Nothing makes my blood rush like coming around a corner and running into the enemy, and its another player - theres a pause, each waiting to see what the other does.... and then the fight is on. I also really like the way being lvl 60 doesn't mean your invincible. A group of people half your lvl can still get your goat.

I'm certainly not trying to start a fire... people like different things. If your having a blast in EQ2, Great! If your not having as much fun as you thought you would... try something else.

I got EQ2 at release. I keep coming back to see how things are going, honestly wishing I could find that magical wonder that EQ1 gave me that first 6 months. I cant find it though. I keep getting bogged down with EQ2's complexity - I hope an MMO comes out soon that takes all the numbers and distractions away and just focuses on immersion.

I actually tried city of heroes recently and was really surprised. I thought a superhero MMOG would be ... gay .... but it was actually a blast and the girlfriend loved it so much I had to buy another account. I am amazed at how freakishly addicted she has become.

Anyway, good luck finding something you enjoy.

P.S. other things I liked about Wow:
- biggest guild raids I've ever seen - period. We had 5 guilds raid enemy territory and the number of people on screen was astonishing(Wow's graphical simplicity made that possible).
- Interesting and unique quests along with so many quizical references to real world literature and characters.
- OMG the Auction house and email!

I am also thinking about giving WOW a shot I think its worth a shot cause with every dam patch that comes out in EQ2 it just gets worse I have to attune all my stuff now what in gods name is the purpose for attuning crafted stuff? I am still trying to understand it I cant even pass my stuff down to my lower toons its seems a little one sided there like for the crafters side crafting blows I personaly dont like it but oh well now all that **** I paid way high prices for in the first price I have to sell back when I upgrade and for the love of god do you actually think I get any where near the money back that I paid YA RIGHT! oh and all the horses what a joke that is! if they intended it to be the way it is now why the hell did they make them the speed they were in the first place and honestly can any one give me a good answer as to why they changed it other than I am a jealous *** over you and that your horse is cool and can run at a good speed and I picked a class that doesnt have it and so your spell should suck? that last patch was the biggest joke I have seen in any video game I have played. Sig heil to the nerf ****'s and there inteligence. My main concern is how do you talk to a company that could care less about you their mentality is your one person we dont need you blow off cause thats what I have seen so far even their forums blow the mod's over there are even bigger ****'s than the dev's its a kinder gentler forum the furror has spoken over there!

Well that certainly isn't the way they sold the game.

It was sold as being able to progress via adventuring or crafting. Many people don't like crafting much. The game should not expect you to want to craft - especially in the EQ2 crafting system. It is probably great fun for people who enjoy tradeskilling.

I always play my alts as a fairly close family and they wear each other's cast-offs when the senior members get better stuff. When my Shaman turned 20 he inherited some crafted chain from my ranger who had moved on to AQ stuff. This is now totally blocked to artificially promote a market in crafted items. It will not do so.

They seem to be continually tweaking the game because people are finding it more fun to play it their own way than the way SoE intended. This will only serve to drive people away.

This is just another WoW vs. EQ2 thread. They're always the longest because people like to beat this horse into the ground.

Here is a break down of both games from someone (me) who tried both games at low, mid, and high levels. Keep in mind I had no bias either...I enjoyed Diablo 2 and the Warcraft series just as much as Everquest.

If you are a casual or impatient gamer who demands instant gratification then play World of Warcraft. The quests are not as involved and it's really easy to do stuff...even if you don't have a group. If you want a sense of accomplishment and have lots of time to play go EQ2. I don't care what Sony says...this game requires alot of time to do stuff.

If you are a diehard PvPer play WoW. I absolutley LOVE PvP. I played on a PvP server in the original EverQuest. I was hoping WoW was going to be the better game just so I could play PvP. Unforuntley I couldn't get over all the other things and that is why I play EQ2.
