When I made my first fella I was toolin' around the isle of refuge and found a couple markers that said "Soandso was here" on them. I figured that Soandso must have been the first adventurer to find the markers and thought that it was rather cool that whoever the person was would always have that honor of leaving their mark in the game like that. Since then I have found probably 30 or so places where someone before me had left their mark. My character is now level 20 and I have moved out of Antonica and into the Thundering steppes. So yesterday during my effort to clear the fog off my map I found 2 spots that had yet to be found and now on those spots it says "faralina (my toon) was here". Now that I left my mark on a couple spots I am wondering if there is any deeper significance to these markers. Does anyone know anything about them? I was hoping for a surname out of it or something but was not awarded anything that i can notice.

Yeah I think they did it more of a "Kilroy was here" type deal.

As for surnames, if you're looking to get one, you need to be level 20 and type /lastname and then type the name you want.
