To the best of my knowledge, that is a thing of the past. With the XP Debt system, you don't lose xp when you die, so you can't lose your current level. There could be a glitch, or it's possible a sadistic GM could take xp away, but the short answer is: No, you can't.

If they do a rollback like they did last week you can lose xp.

under normal circumstances of gameplay.. you cannot loose xp or a level in EQ2...

so rest assured when you gain a level and upgrade your armor you're just fine getting rid of the old stuff.

nope sorry this is not ffxi, you will never level down but getting the xp back at 1/2 the regular amount still sucks (i am in the top 100 on my server for deaths lol) but i am glad you can't level down otherwise i would still be on n00b island and not lvl 23

This makes me wonder what people will do when they reach level 50 and bank the max xp. As long as you can afford to keep your equipment fixed, there is no other real penalty for dying. I can't imagine what the bored level 50's will be doing at that point...

when they raise the cap and you were level 50 with 100000% xp debt, sucks to be you.

Just enter your server and character name. Note that a lot of these stats and services become unavailable after your free trial month unless you want to pony up the money to have continued access to them.
