I imagine I am not the only one here who does not have anyone to share their EQ2 successes with. Being 31 and married and having friends who do not play leaves me with no one to share the game with. I tend to get no more then a smile and a nod from my wife when I tell her I dinged, or completed a quest..........

So here is thread for those of you, who like me, NEED to talk about this game to someone who understand what on earth they are talking about.

Last night I was working on my harvesting in the Graveyard and managed to find an isolated blue skeleton, and to my suprise it dropped my Adept 1 sneak!!!!!! Not a bad way to end the evening at all!!

Hiya.. :) Well, gratz on the adept 1...I know the feeling.. Well, kinda..What a lot of ppl in EQ 1 were doing was bringing a signifigant other into the world of Norrath...I know for some families that is not always possible...Maybe not a second pc to support it...Or the other party doesn't like gaming, let alone online gaming...Oh well, these are the woes we bear...Good luck in your adventures...and with this thread as well... *smiles* I bet you could meet a lotta cool ppl hear that share your problem...Again, Gratz, and GL in your adventures...

I feel you man. Due to being married and working hellish hours at work, I've lost contact with most of my friends. Everyone at work is going to WoW. Most have played EQ1 and were fed up with it. So no one wants to hear about it for mroe than a minute or two. This has the potential to be a good thread, gratz on the drop.

While I do know some people that are playing, I don't see them often enough to talk about game stuff on a regular basis. Congrats.

I can totally identify with you. Well, except for the married part... But I too am unable to find co-workers or friends to play or talk about EQ2. I have been playing the game from the start Solo. Last week someone shouted in Antonica that they were starting a guild and everyone was welcome... I joined it in order to start building a group of friends that enjoys this game.

It actually saddens me that my friends aren't into online RPGs. We will get together and play UT2004, Quake and all that but not this game. I guess the monthly fee is unacceptable to some and the time investment to others. We are friends because we are computer geeks not because of gaming. Oh well, to each their own.

I know exactly where you are coming from. Although things changed, once I joined the [link=www.the-egg.com]Empire Gaming Group[/link]. Greatest bunch of people (and mmo players) around!

We use Teamspeak, so we get immediate response and discussion on all of our triumphs. It's amazing how much better my gaming experience is.

While half of us are in WoW, the other half are playing EQ2. Please feel free to come by [link=www.the-egg.com]The Egg[/link]or our EQ2 guildpage, [link=www.effortlessguild.com]Effortless[/link]. Effortless is located on the Befallen server, Freeport.

Its really, really nice to have a great bunch of friends to relate to. Especially when your wife, though wonderful, is a non-gamer reality TV watcher.

Hope to hear from some of ya soon!!

By the way, all the white text are links. Just click on them and viola!

Thank you Deztroi for your link, I will look more into it.

As for myself, I also understand. The girlfriend hates my "computer relationship" ehehe. Adn all my friends think I'm wasting my time on EQ II, but when I play I don't feel as good as that anywhere else, weird euh?

One of my dream is to start a gaming community. Like buy a 3-4 appartments building, and fill everyone rooms with gamers. And like start a website or something and we all split the cost of the house, and we all play the same game on same server and own the planet mouhahhahahaha *droll* Oops my bad.

They already have that. Its called college :)

I also forgot to mention another great thing that coincides with The Empire Gaming Group. I work in the industry. It's one of the most exciting things that has ever happened in my life (next to marrying the greatest girl ever and her having my baby). Its been one of my goals in life to work here at Cyberlore Studios, even as a temporary tester. I am working hard, and hoping something comes of it.

Yeah it was hard using teamspeak at first, knowing she was in the other room. I thought she was laughing at me :) But, she is uber, and doesn't really mind much as long as I throw her a smile once in a while.
Best way to keep things cool (because I KNOW all us husbands and boyfriends are addicted to EQ2) is to make sure you take them out once a week. Thats what me and mine do, and things are great. Oh, make sure ya do all the little stuff. Like make sure the dishes are done. That way, ya dont have to stop and help in the middle of a raid :)

hey man i wish you good luck and fun hunting! =^) i am going to high school right now and as a kid in high school being a gamer can be a living %$#^ i used to geg beat up regularly at school and my life sucked. so i got realy angrey one day at school and said the wrong thing to the wrong people when the wrong people were around (i kinda shouted out that "If you f$#k heads dont f$#king leave me the f$#k alone i am goning to F$#king bomb this god d&^n school and trust me you are all on my list". so i got a visit from our school police officer and now i have to go to counciling. thisd is a big strin on my allready stressed out parents and the only thing that keeps me sain is my parents love for me and eq2. on the bright side i never got beaten up again. =^) so man persiver and charish the love you have from the ones close to you and dont let others get under your skin.

I couldnt agree with you more on this.
I played EQ1 ( and still do ) since march '99 and built up a large online base of friends.
Most have now opted to go to WoW or are on other servers/got married/grew up :P .
So to be on my ownm soloing after all that time grouping and talking to my guild mates is really uncomfortable.
You get used to them being there and saying "hello" and chatting about what your doing in RL etc.
Socialising is what makes this game what it is.
If you played it and all the others in the game were NPCs then it would soon lose its appeal.

Enjoying EQ2 more than I did EQ1 and I REALLY hated EQ. I mean despised. The mechanics in 1 were slow slow slow, and generated a very elitist and snobby player base if you weren't into the in crowds. The players in EQ1 made it just plain misery with the camping.

EQ2 allows me more options to be a successful player. I dont have to rely on camping the Ulguk King or anything to be successful. However, I have seen some players claiming certain camping spots in Blackburrow and being just silly about it when I walk into the hall or god forbid the room they are camping. To you people, I say /rude. But this does not stop me. I go on my merry way without much need to wait on anything. I find more interesting things when I explore and roam than I do camping with any group. And yet, I get XP quickly (even solo) and money even faster.

Downsides? People. Always the people I guess. I love watching OOC channel for good conversation and the like, but it's constant filled with 3 things:
1) People who dont know how to use the /auction channel or a broker. This doesn't happen often, but it does happen.
2) People who are LFG (there is a list group leaders can pull from and even get better info about LFG). These people need to read and poke around the interface a bit.
3) People who dont bother to have fun and explore asking 'Where is XXX'. Come on folks. The quests you have are low difficulty, read the clues in your journal, explore a bit. You get more out of it. The quest isn't going away on ya, no need to rush. I once asked for a hint on a location, but never directly asked for the location. I wish I had a copper for every 'Where is the Tower of Vhalen at?". I'd be a few platinum up. While that tower isn't easy to find, it's not that difficult either and sticks out like a sore thumb once it comes into view.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too Delvik!

Can you believe people at work now actually ask me if I killed anything big or got any good drops over the weekend when I get in on Mondays? (LOL tho they still look at me with that oh so condescending grin)
