Is there any possible way to eliminate all the damage spam from an encounter? Is there a way to filter the messages at all?

I create multiple windows. Then filter text to each one for different things.

Window1, stretched across the bottom just above the letterbox bar. I 50% transparent it, fully opaque text, limit it to Chat, NPC text, game text, con, etc.

Below that in a smaller box, I have it filtered to Player Tells, and Customer Service (GM tells).

To the right of the personal tells box, I have one of the same size for channel chats I belong to. to the left of the personal tells box, I have my spells text window, it shows spell text, non-melee damage, heroic oppurtunities, etc.

Above that stretched virtically, I have my Ability bar and next to that I have my alt ability bar.

Above those I have a block window dedicated to battle damage etc...

I will take a screenshot and post a link to it later so you can get a better idea of what I mean.

Right click on your chat window and select "chat options" and list of every type of chat, tells, your hits, etc. will pop up. Next to each of these options is a box, uncheck them or check them for what you want to show up in that window :)

Are you taking about turning off OOC, SAY... or others? If so it defeats the purpose or what I want. I guess I like the old EQ interface where i could tell it not to display others hits and so on.

Sorry to knock this thread to the top but I promised a screen shot displaying my layout to explain a little better.

The only text not represented is in the top left, which is where all of the battle spam goes (minus the HO text, and spell text, which both of those go in the bottom window on the left).

Nice layout.. Very close to one I use. I initialy loved the idea of having the window only appear when text was displayed but it fast became a proublem when I would accidently click on the window when trying to target.

My question on this line...

Does anyone know how to filter it so you only see YOUR combat information. I can filter out all combat information, but not selective. I realy don't care if someone else hits, or misses but I realy want to know when I hit a target or when I am being hit. :)

Click the little Plus sign next to the catagory and it will break it down into much more specific things. I'm pretty sure your hits and misses are there, in a sub catagory, under combat.

When I looked, it was either all or nothing. You get you, your group's and everyone elses damage within distance or you get nothing. Very annoying. Maybe I should look again since I may have missed something.
