Hi all. I just started playin DAoC a few days ago and I was just wondering what enchanting a weapon actually does. I bought a steel axe and enchanted it but the stats seem the same. I haven't tried enchanting armor yet but is there any benefit to that as well?

Stats remain the same, but if you leave an weapon unenchanted you will miss stuff. A lot. at least taht's waht i've found.

If you delve the item and look at its stats, you'll see a "bonus" line which says 0%. When you have the item enchanted, it puts in a bonus percentage (steel is 5% I believe, and it goes up with each successive material level). If the item enchanted is armor, you get the bonus to defense; if it is a weapon, you get the bonus to offense.
