Okay I have obtained an:

Ingot of Royal Treasury Gold Rare/Ex
The Kingdom of San d'Oria stores these ingots in the heavily guarded royal treasury. The mark of the griffon is imbeded in the center of each bar.

Anyone have a clue what this is for??

I found this item and it's corresponding quest easily in the quest database on the left side menu under "item lookup".
