I am thinking about starting my own Dynamis LS in a couple of Lv. and I would like to know how is it working in your current Dynamis LS.

For AF2, is there a points system, is it free for all, ...

For Currency, Materials and relic weapons, how is it working.

Please give me any information as how is it working on your LS. All info will be greatly appreciated.

Some of the lotting rules I've seen that I liked are:

For AF2: You can only lot for the job you are currently using. There can be exceptions here like if someone wants to come as one job but they are asked to come as another, they should be able to choose which job they want to lot BEFORE-HAND. The important thing for keeping it fair is to decide this before-hand. Also you can only lot if you are within one level of equipping it. So no Lv65 players lotting on a Lv73 AF2, unless there's nobody high enough to lot.

For currency: The people paying for Dynamis get the currency & synth materials. The AF2 is viewed as the reward for showing up, the currency is viewed as the reward for forking over a million Gil. If the cost for Dynamis is split evenly among everyone, then perhaps have people choose whether they want to be able to lot on AF2 or currency/materials. If the cost is being payed from a fund like an LS bank, then perhaps have the LS members nominate a person or group of people that the currency is split evenly between. The problem with currency is that it requires so much of it do actually do anything, so there's no point in having 64 people get 2 pieces of currency on a run.

Lastly, one rule that I really liked was that people who have already cleared the current area get priority. People who haven't yet cleared the area can only lot if nobody else does. Otherwise there can be some harsh feelings when someone on their very first Dynamis gets an AF2 over someone who has gone to the last 40 runs and gotten nothing. For disputes, if they can pronounce the appropriate Hydra Corps key item in the auto-translate, that proves they've cleared the area.

When setting up these rules, bear in mind that allowing people to lot on single currencies can cause some serious lotting spam in an already-laggy Dynamis.

In my first Dynamis linkshell, there were 3 linkshells involved so we had to be very specific about the lotting rules. Here's how it worked, before the Dynamis you would set a 'Mission' comment if you wanted to be able to lot on AF2. That way the organizers could just look at the linkshell list and see who's lotting on what by the color of their search comment. Those who were lotting on currency could only lot on synth materials and 100-denomination bills. The single currency pieces were allowed to drop freely because we didn't want the spam to mess with us. I liked the method of using search comment to indicate your lotting preferences.

Well sorry it was such a disjointed and long post, but hope you got some useful ideas from it.

I think the biggest factor in how you run your linkshell will be what kind of linkshell you have. If you are going to be a static group of the same 40-50 players each week you can be a little more relaxed in your lotting rules. If you end up having a revolving door, where theres new people every week things will have to be run differently.

The trickiest thing you need to deal with is keeping things fair. Theres no worse feeling than being the guy whos done 25 dynamis runs hoping for an af drop, and then you get outlotted by a guy whose there on his first run ever and who never shows up again. You should have set rules about who gets to lot. If you have a static group you could have some seniority system, but if its a revolving door you'll have to come up with a rule thats fair to your veterans, while not making the newcomer feel like hes wasting his time by being there. Maybe ban all new arrivals from lotting af until their 2nd or 3rd run.

The other problem most new dynamis shells have is attendance. Every job has 1 city where theres no af drop for them. You cant allow your blms to all suddenly disappear every time you are going to do dynamis sandoria, or for your paladins to all be missing every time you do dynamis jueno. If you have a static group it'll be easier to keep a "team mentality" going, and hopefully people will show up to all events for the good of the linkshell, but if you have more of a pickup group, it will be harder to get people to attend all events. You may have to make a rule to force people to come, or if things are really bad you might have to have everyone form up in jueno, and not tell them which city you are doing until everyones there.

I cant give you much insight from how we run our shell, because the shell I belong to runs things in a way that wouldn't work for most groups. My dynamis ls is also my hnmls, and were a pretty tight group. Attendance isnt an issue, and everyone knows what jobs people play and are very fair about how they lot. For instance none of our members will lot on af for their 2nd or 3rd jobs until everyone with that main job gets it. Our trips are ls funded, so noone really cares much about currency/item drops. We let the items drop where they will, and our currency is collected and divided among the few people we have that are seriously working on upgrades.

Anyway, like I said, I think the type of linkshell you end up with should dictate the type of rules you need to impose. Best of luck. Dont forget to sleep the avatars^^.

I've seen and heard of a few rules - participation points, time in LS, free lot after a trial... depends what's gonna suit your LS and the people you have in it. In a way free lot is total hell because you're praying for your item to drop and you're seeing people you're friends with as opposition when it does.

Here's how the lotting works in the Dynamis LS I'm a part of:

Single currency units -- free lot for all unless it's a player sponsored run

100 currency units -- You must have "af2 lotting eligibility" (explained later) and you cannot receive your AF2 in the zone (already got from a previous run or it doesn't drop). You can opt to pass on your AF2 for 100 currency lotting, but you have to state that before the run starts. Example, if I dont' want MNK AF2 in Bastok, I can opt to pass on MNK AF2 for 100 byne bills if I state it in my comments before Dynamis starts.

Synthesis materials -- open lot

Relic weapons -- You must have 2 runs w/ the LS before you can lot relic. If someone can prove they have the materials for the 1st upgrade and they are only mising the relic weapons, they have priority.

AF2 -- You must have "af2 lotting eligibility."

AF2 lotting eligiblity = 3 consecutive runs w/ the LS. This was done because of a lot of people entering a zone, winning their AF2, and then leaving the LS. This used to be only 70+ could lot, but we recently changed to 70+ only.

I was in the LS from the start when I was 68, and I had no problem passing on my AF2 when it dropped. It gave me an incentive to get to 70. We've never had a problem w/ someone not passing an AF2 if they weren't allowed to lot.

The only exception to the AF2 lotting eligibility is if all those who are eligible to lot have the AF2 already or do not want it. Then the ppl who aren't eligible but are that job can lot. In our last Windy run, we got 2 SAM AF pants, but the only eligible SAM already had it, so the 2 other SAMs who were not eligbile were allowed to lot.

Hope that helps.
