"Double" Synthesis Skill GainsFollow

I don't know if they'd done this before anytime recently (since the Rhapsodies were introduced), but yeesh.

This appears to be far more than "Double". I know it is anecdotal evidence, but I've done 4-5 recipes now across 3 different characters, and watched a family member do one as well, and all of these recipes were Lv80+.

Before this, a Kitron Macaron without Ionis gave rather slow skillups post-80. Usually, it was 1 skillup every 5-10 synths, sometimes worse.

After this started, the skillups are almost every single synth, with 5-8 synth gaps of no skill randomly thrown in. I got my Woodworker from 94 to 100 in about 75-80 synths, I got my Goldsmith ~1.5 on about 20 synths, family member got .6 bone out of 8-10 synths, and my blacksmith got over a level out of 4-5 stacks of adamantite ore, making ingots.

This was all using Kitron Macarons without Ionis.

Just posting this, for anybody who still needs later level crafting stuff.... this "Double" Skill Gains seems to be more than double, or something is stacking to produce far better results than they let on, lol.

So, the whole point of this... do your skilling now! (or the last week of Jan if you don't have any materials)

Yeah been done before, it is indeed double as people have found out. That's why people always begged SE to keep these campaigns permanent because the boosts are insane on everything that gets boosted.

IMO, it makes craft skill gains a lot more reasonable.

Especially when the only crafted items that "matter", are Lv90+ anyways except for a very few (and usually consumable!) items.

99% of the gear is worthless, you can buy just about everything you actually need with sparks, and with Trust NPCs, you won't notice wearing inferior gear.

In fact, it seems that SE themselves acknowledge how little <Lv75 gear actually matters, because there are no jewelry, belts, or capes on the Sparks NPC whatsoever and most people leveling today have empty jewelry/belt/cape slots except for Warp/Emperor/Echad rings. The armor/weapons that are on the Sparks NPC are very basic, having pretty much no stats whatsoever, 'cept for very rare cases.

And to be honest, I recently leveled a mule's warrior up to 50, with no cape, no belt, no necklace, no earrings, and no rings outside of the aforementioned rings which do absolutely nothing in combat. I didn't notice much of a difference whatsoever, but then I was keeping myself to Tough and lower, with the occasional low VT. I did just fine, even with an under-leveled GAX.

SO, my point is... I really don't understand why they feel they need to keep the crafts annoying to level up. They made Goldsmithing 50x easier with the Geodes and the Avatar Rocks, so much that a huge stretch of Goldsmithing, from Lv40 to ~60 and then again from 70s to 91 is an utter joke to get. Meanwhile, other crafts (smithing, bone, etc) are still just as much of a horrendous chore as ever.

And then you have cooking. Level 90+ to 106, you can simply take a verboshroom (I have 200+ of these from leveling in Cirdas) + 3 sandy carrots and make BST jugs. Easiest recipe by far, 90+ of all the crafts.

With all the emphasis placed upon Job Points (getting to 99 means nothing from what I can tell), I don't get why these kinds of things are just 4 weeks in January and not all year 'round. I think they should just bite the bullet and go "just let them sail through to 99" because they are already halfway there, it's just they keep hesitating to make the whole jump.

There are sparks rings.

Yeah, they put in quite a bit, but at the time of RoE there was still a decent playerbase going through RoV, so they didn't want to "take away from crafters" as one of the reasons.

But they could really just dump all 1-99 inferior gear into the sparks exchange, but that could likely lead to people doing something akin to the Chocobo Blinkers infinite gil exchange back in Abyssea's prime lol.
