Ok, I was just camping a NM and looked away from my computer. when I glanced back I saw my screen was blank and an error had popped up. So I clicked, and it took me back to POL. When I tried to log back in, I get this message.
"You have no Content ID for FINAL FANTASY XI. Please obtain a new Content ID or reactivate a cancelled one in order to play the game and/or to use the PlayOnline services."
Soooo I check out the Content ID link to reactivate, and I get Error Code:POL-0019 Cannot connect to server. Please check network settings."
Does anyone have any idea what on earth is happening? Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
Clicked it again, I get the message: "The service is currently unavailable due to maintenance. Please try again at a later time." I was in past area, at the Fort(S)

SE is saying they are aware of the problem, and are trying to fix it as soon as possible. When that might be though, is anyone's guess. Someone mentioned in one of the threads that the EU accounts have been fixed, but since I'm from the U.S I have no way of checking.

Today I logged in to see how things are going along. It gave me some new options about reinstalling my Content ID. It tells me that if I want to reactivate it, then I need to do it through the Content ID menu. So I go ahead and click, this time it lets me put in my information, no error code... until I need to put in my SquareEnix ID and Security code password.
This is what it gives me:
UCS-1104 You cannot purchase a Content ID. Please try again after checking the following:
*Make sure the payment information is valid. To ensure this re-enter and update your payment details even if they have not altered.
*Make sure your PlayOnline ID and Content ID's have not been Cancelled and reactivate if necessary.
I have been playing this game on and off literally the day NA version was released, I think somewhere around Christmas of 03 or 04. Hell will be raised if I find out that my character was deleted.
UPDATE III PLEASE READ
I just reactivated my content ID. These are the steps I went through to reactivate (and yes I had to pay 12.95 but it did work)
1. I restarted my computer
2. I immediately logged in, and went to Service and Support, and went to my Membership information. I clicked on update payment information.
3. It brings me to the menu describing the Visa & Mastercard Secure options, giving me a link that raises my webpage. I Filled out all the information they asked for (mine was VISA SECURE so I chose that btw) I basically gave them the exact same information that was there before, and when I was finished it prompted me to return to POL and continue.
4. Brought up the Content ID menu, and I saw my main & mule to be reactivated for 12.95 or what have you. I went ahead and paid, just so this would be over with.
I'm not sure if this will help anyone but it fixed my problem. I hope it will for you as well.
