Incorrect PoL ID and Password on different computers?Follow

I'm running into a weird problem that I can't find any solution to. I have two computers, a laptop and desktop. I've been playing FFXI on my laptop for a long time, I just got this new desktop for home and installed FFXI on it. When I try to log into my account on it, however, it tells me I have an incorrect PoL ID or Password and won't let me log in. I went back on my laptop and manually re-typed in all my login and password information and it logs in successfully with no problems. I even tested logging in on https://secure.playonline.com/polplusus/friendlist/login.html on both computers, and it works just fine. However, FFXI refuses to let me through on my desktop... Does anyone know why this is happening?

or maybe numbers lock isn't on so you aren't putting in numbers with the numeric keypad section of the PC's keyboard?

I was serious. Do you have any idea how many people ***** up passwords because of caps lock? Even moreso with POL because they tend to hit caps lock when they enter in their POL ID.

This is why my caps lock key opens calculator, and i have no way of turning caps lock on (short of opening the on screen keyboard and turning it with that, or various other equally obnoxious methods).

numlock is commonly overlooked as well. I actually had it forced to on during login for my laptop when I used to roam alot. That way, if someone actually did learn my password, they couldn't sign on because they would be putting in numbers for half the user/pass instead of letters.

Check your indicators on your keyboard to make sure caps lock is off and numlock is on if you are using your number keypad to enter numbers. Other than that, only thing I could think of is if you were saving credentials and it wasn't entered correctly when you saved it on the PC.

I can log in a dozen times with no problems on the website (both computers) and on my laptop (FFXI), but not the desktop (FFXI).

Have you tried going into settings on you user login screen and checking the PoL PW? You would not need that PW to log into the site so that could be your problem.

It's also the same one for the linkshell community site.

For someone asking for help, you sure seem to have an attitude towards those trying to do so.

Did you try using the software keyboard? Same result?

I can't remember if your PlayOnline ID is case sensitive or not. I do recall having trouble creating my account on Xbox because I ended up putting abcd5678 instead of ABCD5678 or some nonsense like that.

Have you verified that you entered the saved portion of your credentials correctly (ie, the POLID and such)? I mentioned that in my last post, and you haven't said anything about it. You keep talking about the one set of credential used at the site, but the game still uses two.

EDIT: here is a walkthrough for setting up the token. double-check that POL info, etc. is saved properly:
