There usually isn't a generic Visa link. Each financial institution usually has its own link.

What bank has issued your card?

TD Bank, debit card. The lady at the bank that I talked to had no idea what I was talking about.

What are these workarounds I hear about? Do they apply to me? I tried SE customer service and was on hold for 40 minutes before I had to leave for work. I don't want to do that again, but I will if I have to.

It didn't take my card. It's the same bank, but that's the canadian web version. You seem to be able to figure this out better than I, got a new link?

Doesn't look like your card is included as your account is not in Canadian Dollars.

It says in the TD Bank FAQ

Quote:
2. Who can register for Verified by Visa?

Anyone with a personal TD Visa Card can register for Verified by Visa, with the exception of Cardholders who have a TD U.S. Dollar Visa Card. TD Visa Commercial Cards, such as TD Venture Visa and TD Business Visa, are not included.

As for a workaround - this apparently works but I've not tried it.

Since I do not have an account with TD Bank I couldn't snoop around their U.S. website ( http://www.tdbank.com/ ), but that would be the starting point to see if you can find it there.

Try this site, it worked for me:

https://verified.visa.com/aam/data/default/landing.aam?partner=default&resize=yes

(its the 2nd result down from searching for "Verified by visa" on Yahoo).

Try to activate it by shopping online, like the site says.

Had to use the workaround (it still works). Thank you to everyone for all of your help.

The best solution I came up with was to call my credit card company and have it unlocked. It had me as ineligible and they fixed it up in a few minutes. I believe the default is "ineligible" and you need to get it changed. Trust me, the easiest way is to call your credit card company. Being on hold on speaker phone for an hour is a lot easier on the nerves than trying to fight with websites.
