Well, people were buying Tidal Talisman for $40 then reselling it on Ebay for $140 after the event was over. It might be a worthwhile investment to buy it now while it's available then resell it later-- especially if it comes with a juicy in game item.

(I realize it comes with the players name engraved on it, but that won't matter to the person buying it for it's in game item. It's also possible to remove the engraving I guess.)

Edit: It also better be actual silver and not just "silver plated" to be worth THAT much.

Did the Tidal Talisman have any indication before being purchased that you would be receiving an in-game item?

Yeah it did, so this probablly doesn't have an in-game item. I don't know why they think they are going to sell any though.

The same people that purchased the Shadow Lord statue that was 300 dollars?

SE really should stick to cheaper things like T-shirts, plushies and action figures ._.

Think how fast something like Colibri, Apkallu or Gear plushies would sell out if they were priced reasonably.

Even a nice T-shirt with FFXI-related content would hit the mark.

***** that noise. I'll be sticking with that $25 set of tarutaru figurines!

Gotta love knowing the owner of the comic book/collectible place near me :)

Edit: Since I'm currently playing through Chrono Trigger (wow I missed a gem in my youth), I noticed that there was no Chrono anything on the product list to the side. With the remake, and rumors of a remake of the sequel as well; Anyone hoping that we'll possibly see some more Chrono Trigger/Cross merc?

Where the hell did they come up with 106.99 anyway? It's such an odd number.

The SV925 suggests that its a HQ silver tag (92.5% pure, normal continental silver is only 80% pure), though whilst it is HQ I don't think its legal to sell in the UK. Gold/Silver/Platinum etc.. requires a hallmark which was alluded to in a previous post, but the hallmark is a stamp, if you have for instance a gold watch you are not allowed to sell it in the UK unless it has the correct hallmark. It should say something like SE (symbol) Date, is it worth £65 for a silver pendant though? Probably not, though you can hit Palborough mines and pick up a silver tag for free, drops from Quadav.

why $107.? because tardcore players with money to burn will buy them up just to have a rare ingame item that in most instances become a necessity for "leet" players after all now you can wear your optical hat for 10acc to replace your walmart turban/ pcc not only do you get your 10acc but an extra 5% haste to your build all for the price of permanent changes to the way that game companies rob their customers.

Except by rmting an ls bank, and then selling extra drops you get due to increased claims, nasa pays for itself within a few months.

If there is an ingame item with it, and if the ingame item was absolutely amazing, I might consider buying it...

And then I would never use it because I would be too embarrassed that I spent that much money on it.

News from SE:

They who buy this doggy tag, will get Bahamut as smn.

And they will get the smn two hour, Knights of the Round, which is the only way to beat AV.

"And we know that everyone will be lvl 75 smn, why else do you think we had let smn burns go unnerfed so long ;)"

But when someone asks you to pay $100 or more for an item - you get a free ROFL-Copter

Why $107? It's a solid-silver piece of jewelry. I won't buy this for the same reason I don't generally spend $100 on jewelry, but that doesn't make it any less legitimate than any other piece of jewelry out there that I have no interest in buying.

Nothing forces any of us to need this, want this, or buy this. Buying it is a choice, and takes nothing away from the choice not to get it. How is a choice ever a bad thing? If it's not your cup of tea, leave it alone.

I'm reminded of when McDonald's restaurants stopped selling "super-size" fries and drinks as a response to criticism that McDonald's food is bad for you and the super-size items have too many calories. Who cares? Exactly the same items as now were also available, and customers could have bought them instead, if they wanted to. Removing the super-size items did nothing but take choice away from consumers. When is it ever a bad thing to have options?

And, yes, the counterargument is that consumers need to be protected for their own good, because they're too stupid to make intelligent choices. I don't buy that about french fries, and I certainly don't buy it about jewelry.

I've no doubt that some people will buy this silver dog-tag and be happy with it. For those people, I'm happy it's available, and I can just ignore it because I don't want it.

Long long ago, they put out hand-painted Chrono Cross porcelain figures. I was too young to even legally get a job let alone afford one at the time ; ;
