Oh I get it now, I missed the part about the slaughter of innocent people referenced by a greeting card being funny. I guess if you don't know anybody that was hurt by it you can find it kind of difficult to relate. Imagine if someone made a similar "joke" referencing 9/11...
I don't think the definition is really meant to be "making light of terrible events." There has to be some humor, irony, or existential fatalism or something to be black comedy. Doesn't really matter though, its offensive and in poor taste and its not something that should be repeated or proudly displayed.
