The proudest moment YOU earned in FFXI?Follow

Hey guys I apologize if there's already a thread like this, but what is the best moment of satisfaction you earned in FFXI? I know getting a Kirin's Osode and all that is nice but that just involves a lot of time and reliance on your allies. I'm talking about something you personally got yourself.

My best moment was when I was level 50 and I saw someone wearing a Voyager's Sallet and I thought to myself, "I must get that". I did some research, asked a bunch of random summoners and eventaully made a solid party. I guided us up to the Dobson Flies, and luckily they were unclaimed sitting there. We fought them for 5 days straight until all of us has a Sallet and a Jaeger ring. it was awesome seeing all these HNMLS members rocking V Sallets and here I am with 50 as my highest job with one. I got a lot of compliments those following weeks.

Anyone else got a good story? I mean it could even be your EXP dying from a link and you killed off both mobs. Just something you organized or did.

well, I just came back in the game probably a month ago after 4 years of playing WoW. My proudest moment was when I use to camp Leaping Lizzy against this japanse player named Oats, I remember it so well because when he showed up everyone camping would just leave. He had the most Leaping Boots sells on Ragnorak, he would claim get drop and I guess go put it in the mailbox and come back maybe in the next hr. He would always, I mean always use flee before Lizzy would show on my widescan, I got so use to hearing him flee I would just use mine as soon as possible and follow him and watch get a dart/steal/mug claim. But one day it was just me and him and I saw Lizzy pop on widescan on the other side....on Oats's side in the back, I activate flee and run to find that I made it first and I just knew he would claim but my steal went off and LL went red. He bowed and logged off. Til then I've only seen LL and never claimed him I wasted a good month.

Well this one time in Nyzul Isle 16-20 the setup was Thf Rdm Blu Sam War (something like that) and me as lolblm (yes I know blm isn't that great for nyzul but it's all I have and I wanted goliard clogs). Well the run was going really well, but then a nasty Dahak came up. We fought it but the it petrified the war and it killed 2 of the other melees so it came after me(I had no shadows gravity or ss was /sch) the rdm gravitied it and I finished it off with a freeze II. It could've been really nasty, but we killed it and we got to the top beat the boss and got goliard clogs ^^. So I was 1/3 and happy that I did something in Nyzul even though I was only Blm.

Nothing makes me feel proud anymore. By now, any drop I get is more of a "finally..." and sigh of relief. God I'm bitter. Where's my sertraline

Probably my proudest solo moment, which I think you are asking for, is my first NM solo. I had just hit 75 on PLD and decided I wanted to make some cash. I figured Alkyoneus would be good bet for those juicy 800k bracelets. It took a while to get the moldy buckler drop. I didn't have much haste at the time outside of walmart turban, and I was /nin, so it was a bit hariy and kinda scary when he used mighty strikes. I got him in the end and he dropped for me.

1/1, I figured this was easy and I should be a millionaire very quickly.

Since I am in the neighborhood of 2/35ish on him lol.

Soloing G3. Well, almost, I had to ask someone who was in Oz to open the top door for me, but otherwise, I did that all by myself with a map, a guide, and WHM/BLM 60.

When I got Fenrir, that was not easy quest for me. When I got my lu shang rod, that took along time to get and having a few level 75 classes with AF. And getting all merits for Summoner.

Tanking Cerberus as a taru. All the years of "you're a taru, are you gonna be able to stay alive against (insert tp move here)?" culminated on one event.

Cerberus readies Gates of Hades.

Random Galka PLD was defeated by the Cerberus.

Might sound a bit odd, but it was probably the time I went out of my way to obtain the crafting items for a lilac corsage, which I then signed with a HQ crystal and passed on to a gaming friend of mine. I was determined that no items would be paid for (besides the La Thiene Cabbages to spawn the Habetrot NM) and spent many hours killing various enemies for the drop items. The twinthread itself was well above my crafting level, but by sheer luck I managed to craft it first time.

That same person who I crafted the corsage for I had also crafted a full set of signed Seer's equipment. It was good for levelling my crafts as well as providing her with what I still feel to be one of the best low level mage armours.

I would say the time we finally cleared promy-mea. Did a run of dem and cleared it for the people who still needed it. None of us had plans, so we figured we'd run up mea just for **** and giggles. No 2-hours, like 1 anima left. We hop in, don't bother with RR, and get to beating on the boss. WAR goes down, MNK goes down, SMN goes down, WHM goes down. It's just me (war) and the ranger both in the yellow. No healing, i'm trying to get shadows up, hate bouncing between the 2 of us. Somehow, we manage to kill it. Think RNG had around 20hp left, I was less than 10.

Epic win and I just felt so good about it.

Finishing Cop.

My LS and I went through Zilart and Rank missions without the need for much stategy and there were'nt many challenges for us.
The stories were good, but because the missions went by so easily (we were all experienced players), I didn’t really have many memories about those missions that stood out in my thoughts. We basically finished the missions after a few days.

My experience with CoP was nothing like the previous expansion. I really feel like I pushed my character’s skills to beat CoP.

The story felt more epic. And I have good memories on most of the missions.
With no other expansions out at the time, seeing the last CS of CoP really made me feel like I had “beaten the game”.

It was a great ride, and I have never felt more accomplished in game.
