I get the whole "familiar races" bit to help us transition, but there better be at least a few more races cause while familiar is good, being stuck with the same five races we've been playing for the last seven years isn't exactly appealing to me. The original EQ had 12 races to start with and half were dark races. That was <3.

I was thinking the same thing. I agree, I like the idea of having some familiar stuff for FFXI fans... but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add something new. It would be awfully boring to see the same characters you've been staring at for years in a new game.

Thus far it seems that SE is betting the bank on fan loyalty to the "Final Fantasy" franchise.

While simultaneously pissing on them.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

Aren't pretty graphics a good thing?

Seriously? "Same old back story" just because there was a war previous to where the game picks up? Hell, most of the FF games take place not long after after/during/right before some sort of global conflict.

Am I missing something or do you have secret access to the details on the new job system that no one else can see? There's barely any information at all and it's leaning towards being LESS restrictive if anything.

Again I wish i knew your source for your information on the crafting system and how it is totally restricted by how well you want a character that can actually fight.

Really, since you seem to have some magical insight into just how everything in XIV is going to work and how much it sucks I bet everyone is just dying to hear about it.

Pretty graphics I agree but just how did it come up with the rest of its conclusions?

Personally, I am optimistic. I see progress in MMORPG. I would try to imagine what's in the future.

They are probably using the same trick they did with FFXI, showing the models on the character creation screen on FFXI makes them look a whole lot more detailed than they are ingame, totally different models. Saying it looks pretty means nothing, these may not even be true ingame graphics.

same here, feels like SE has lost all inspiration when creating this game and just renamed everything from ffxi. I mean the "galkas" and "mithra" is still gonna single race's from distant lands, "Tarutaru's" still gonna be the nr magic caster.

They stated they did all that to make FFXI players "at home" with the new game and for transition to be as easy as possible. Problem is they are pissing off the FFXI userbase to such a degree I doubt that will help them at all. Gj Square.
