I think they are trying fix the bug that caused the crashed that started with the nerf that was done to fix the error they made when they applied the patch that updated the game.

The issue being "resolved" is something to do with the King's Kupopowers being kept in areas not intended or something.

Either way REALLY SE?! REALLY?!

Actually, the Kupo powers were working for mobs in BCNMs. There was evidence that the Royal Jelly mobs run to the center and sprinter's shoes speed.

Quit complaining. Ive plaied this game for 5 years and we barelly have any down time as of lately. It could be worse, we could be down a lot more. For a game this large there are going to be mistakes, not everyone is perfect like some of you think you are. Its only 2 hours go eat lunch or something.

It must be more ninja fixes, especially since we have no new "known issue" posts from them.

The Guild - Season 2 - Episode 8: "Emergency!"

Sometimes... The Guild episodes are too familiar.

Edit: Link does work correctly; had to post it to check it though.

I don't mind all the short maintenances, but do they have to always be during the same time frame? Mix it up a bit at least so the same people are always getting screwed out of events. This is the second week in a row I'll miss an Einherjar run because of maintenance.

I think they're always scheduled at the same time because that timeframe is when the IT crew that knows how to take down the servers is working.

For scheduled maintenance, they can probably tell them to come in early/late, but for unscheduled maintenance, they gotta do it when they have the right people in the office already.

It's like, my office is only open 8-5 EST. If one of our clients wants us to call Hawaii business hours, we can only promise the 8-12 times there, because that's the only overlap. We don't have the staff to handle Hawaii 1-5PM, unfortunately. Same thing with SE. You can't ask human beings to work 24 hours just to inconvenience some people a little less.

I don't mind the updates. It forces me to actually do something productive. I've played too many games that never get updated ever.

But this one may be in response to certain BCNMs being affected by the Kupowers update (notably, slimes in Royal Jelly having Quickening effect)

I understand that, but when it's only a 2-hour maintenance, there's some flexibility in there. It's not like they are 8-hour ones.

I would obviously much prefer they fix problems rather than leave them linger but seriously since ACP the people working on the game seem to be totally inept, maybe they moved all the team off and took on new people but they don't seem to be doing a very good job at all lately. For the server to have to be taken down the mass amount of times it has over and over since a rather small update it's almost hilarious, FFXI was always very stable, maintenances were taken seriously and were very well done but lately thats gone to pot. No possible way the game should be taken down again like this over and over and over, they are just being sloppy now.

Whoever worked on the game in past years would of never had it like this, they used to be a lot more professional about it. I have totally lost count how many times the server has been taken down since ACP.

Ok, but seriously, last night we had what was probably our best Xarc in... ever. A full-on farming run netted us:

Abyss Burgeonet
Assassin's Armlets
Commodore Tricorne
Duelist's Chapeau
Etoile Casaque
Koga Tekko
Monster Gloves
Sorcerer's Petasos
Summoner's Horn
Wyrm Armet

Craziness.

I pointed this out in the other thread from the maintenance yesterday.

There was an issue that was found earlier this week where the NM's in the Royal Jelly BCNM had the Swift Shoes effect and had Perma +Movement speed. This maintenance is probably to fix that issue.
