Think anyone that is .dat minning could tell us RDM's and WHM's where we should go upon log in to pick up our newest spells, because that way we don't have an army of mages clougging up every magic shop trying to find them

The Mog Satchel is a new form of storage accessible from anywhere on Vana'diel that allows players to freely interchange items with their standard inventory. It has the same storage capacity as the player's gobbiebag, and is expandable to a maximum of 80 slots through the completion of certain quests.

It's gonna make sky awfully crowded though. Gonna be a lot of BSTs in sky."

I don't think you thought that through, FoV can potentially kill sky for BST with just one phrase "Defeat 6 Flamingos". I logged out in sky to verify this first hand and see just how much SE hates BST.

Also, I love getting rated down for having an opinion, most likely by people who agree with my opinion but already spent $10. Get a grip. Seriously, in a matter of minutes my post about the satchel gets subdefaulted? Holy butt hurt losers Batman!

There are 4 other islands in sky with Flamingos, pots and dolls on them besides the main entrance. I have a hard time believing that many people will be up there soloing flamingos for FoV to occupy them all. I think the change actually HELPS BST more than anything.

I doubt these spells will come from Magic Shops, ready for some scroll farming?

The new RDM spells could be quested, If I was a dev I would make quests for them with Rainemard in the past...but since he's a freelance that wouldn't be possible :(

Maybe Curilla instead? or the dude in the Lion Springs pub, but please for the love of god don't make them a hard mob/bcnm drop :(

When we are in sky we xp off Despot PH's and Despot has been a main source of income for the Beer/Phogg duo, so that will hurt. I can see it being good for lower level BSTs I guess, but then I never had a hard time making XP without it.

So your statement that "it will kill BST" actually meant "it will kill my NM farming". I don't disagree that it will hurt Despot hunting for BST. Overall though it possibly gives BST an actual decent solo merit camp, cause right now there isn't really any. Maybe we'll get lucky and Flamingos won't be a target mob, but I highly doubt it.

Every spell update since toau has had their scrolls come from a shop. What gives you the feeling this will now change?

Hmmm , Does this mean players can't equip from Mog satchel but can still access it anywhere ,that would still make it helpful for gear swapping.

No, like I said we merit/xp off the dolls when despot is not up. With caskets going in, if flamingos are a target, people will find the other camps. Just look at Xarcabard and realize there is no FoV for high level jobs, so I imagine sky will be flooded, the only saving grace being no NPCs in the zone. I don't see how bringing more non-bsts to a bst friendly zone will help BST.

Hopefully the crush of people I am concerned about just won't materialize, though.

Well, is there a single FoV quest that is only one mob type? I assume if any of them will have birds on it, they will also have "kill 3 pots/dolls" on it as well. What job besides BST would actually want to bother soloing those? Risk/effort won't be worth the reward for most people.

They are the easiest mobs in the zone, so they are most likely to be on the hit list for most people doing FoV there if they are indeed targets. Also, FoV doesnt just apply to soloers. In the end, we shall wait and see.

Actually I had a feeling the Mog Satchel would be something like this. After all, they didn't expand your mog safe/storage/locker past 80, why would your actual inventory go above 80? It'll be just a bag you carry that you reach into for stuff. Granted you do the same with the regular inventory, but apparently the goblins can make a more sophisticated bag than the moogles, which allows you to instantly switch armor in the blink of an eye.

Thus I conclude that unlike the goblin bag of holding +4, the mog satchel is merely a non-magical bag that you can put stuff in.

This update is full of numerous 1-slot space savers.

As such, I guess I kinda like it >_>

Awsum. I've been debating whether or not to toss this away.

The following items may now be handled by the special event storage NPC:
Stuffed Chocobo / Dream Bell / Dream Bell +1

Yay 2 slots!

T♂ Mannequin 7 28
T♀ Mannequin 7 28
M Mannequin 7 28
G Mannequin 7 28

Meh. That's little comfort to those that got all 8 of them.

At least I can get rid of the other 9-drawer almirah, I guess.

What do you mean? All the new scholar spells came from a shop. Reprisal from a shop in al zhabi. The absorb tp dread spikes and absorb acc come from the same npc in aht urgan. And repose comes from a shop from bastok. The only spells that are quested(Again not from a monster) are teleport spells. Which fall under the category, "Because they are teleport spells."

Also I too wasn't under the impression they where guaranteeing it in the march update. They used "soon" instead of march update. The only thing I remember them saying it will be in march is the whm and rdm adjustments.

Edit: Oh and I forgot the scholar af weapon spell. That's quested to, oh man.

Well SE likes to take money away from the game so I wouldn't doubt they would do something like making you buy all spells from shop like the expensive corsair rolls.

Wow, that kind of goes against what SE said... they made it seem like it is an extra inventory slot, but now it just functions as another mog locker? There is going to be an angry mob very very soon.

I don't get why everyone is so upset about the mog satchel, it's exactly what I expected it to be. You can't /equip items from it, but you can take all your nin tools that you aren't using as whm/sch and put them in there till you change back to nin or /nin. You can put all your food in there from all jobs, and only pull out whatever food it is you use for whm. You can put in your beast/kseals in there between parties, you can put your oils/powders in there after you get to camp, you can put your quivers in there after you break out 2 stacks for your current party. You can put your warp stick in there, with your tav/mea/hola/dem rings, as well as your signet staff. You can keep your choco whistle in there when you don't need it.

Seriously, I can go on for another paragraph at least, this is exactly what I've been wanting, a place to stash all that crap I always have on me, but use once a day maybe. I think people were expecting too much and read too much into the prerelease notes

Also makes farming or taking pictures for Zeni much less of a headache. As it is now, I have to send crap to myself through delivery box just so I have some room to hold 10 slides.
