Summarizing a BG Thread.

Fixed EXP loss in Campaign.
http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/polnews/news14187.shtml
Evidently the fix is to re-tag after one death, which you won't lose exp from. Its concurrent deaths (2nd and subsequent) on one tag that cause exp loss. First death still prevents xp loss, just re-tag afterwards.
Fixed

Fixed Lamia No. 13's buddies can't be dispelled, avoid this fight, though they can still be slept/kited/whatver. Fixed

Crashes with new Levelsync icon, perhaps related to use/previous use of UI mods, but is so sporadic. Could just be a 'when you last updated' issue with other icon updates, or corruption.

Crash on copy+paste, not just from pasting too long a string (windower related, but relevant to those who use it).

Fixed Wyvern status cure breaths broken, noted on Chariots in Nyzul and by soloists, use precaution. Fixed

Drop rate on Magicked Skull still sucks.

Fixed Relic WS effects (Haste, etc) will not activate at the same time as Mythic WS aftermaths. I don't know what the hell they're talking about, see quote below. As far as I can tell, after-effects from, for example, Catastrophe (10% haste) are not being reapplied if you WS again with the effect still active. Likely broken by addition of Mythic WS. Fixed

Issues with Erase not working on Drown from Fomors in Dynamis: Tavnazia.

These are just warnings to prevent unnecessary crashes/exp loss, but evidently blue name = whining = rate down.

Edit: Title change for better relevance.

PS2 version running on PS3 having major issues with zoning, runic portals and active campaign zones require a hard-reset, chocobo raising affected.

Level sync wipes buffs, including Invis and Sneak, be careful where you activate it.

Quote:
Group of 6 people with floor 0 or floor 1 Nyzul discs, only people who had started at floor 1 at some time in the past got progression, those who had never started one got nothing.

This may be by-design, if the people who have run before selected floor 1 and that prevents those still on lower floors from saving at higher floors, but if this points to first-time Nyzul runs not saving progression at all, could be hell to pay (though I'm sure its not much lost til its fixed)

Exp Bonus effects from Bands/Rings Appear to be cleared by level sync, particularly when the target player levels up. This may have been horrible coincidence that his bonus capped, but is likely true. Debunked myself, popped exp band and made party, dropped my level, uncapped, and dropped level again and my exp bonus is still there. Could still be confirmed further as the sync-target and leveling up but sofar... don't worry about it.

Cannot /anon while under Level Sync, as intended.

Cleaned up edit lines and crap again.

First one, not SE's fault that something they did broke functionality in a third party program, second...I can't figure out what that's even supposed to mean, as I imagine it's currently impossible to even get aftermath effects as those are limited to *having* a mythic weapon...

Copypasta entry for those that use windower and use the functionality. Just because you choose to gimp your multicore PC with a five-year-old app doesn't meant its not relevant to those that don't. Its to save some people a few crashes and WTFs, just like the Wyvern status cures to save some DRG asses, or the exp loss in campaign warning.

And I'll just quote it, because thats what I was able to figure from the post:
Quote:
I've noticed on the aftermath icon from relic weapon skills seemed to be weird.
It seems that the aftermath icon from the first weapon skill will not be over written from the next weapon skill. If I Catastrophe with the aftermath icon on and then it wears off a second later, then it seems that I do not have the added 10% haste effect even when I just used Catastrophe?

A. you have to have the mythic weapon to get an aftermath effect, and no one has one of those yet that I know of

B. you have to main-hand a mythic weapon to get its aftermath effect, you have to main-hand a relic to get it's ws effect, therefore it is impossible to have both, BY DESIGN, unless you're a yoichi sam with the mythic as well but, see A.

Still, SE did borq up a lot this update.

I was just trying to say it's not SE's job to ensure that stuff they didn't make still works.

That and forgot to note in my original post that yeah, everything else that's listed there is pretty stupid. And the relic comment makes more sense now.

I hardly consider that SE's doing. Its your fault for using windower. Secondly there are bound to be issues when you modify a game. Its not like the problems go without being fixed, that is what maintenance is for, so remind me again why you are complaining?

Also I'd like to note that yes SE may change something in the game that causes another effect to occur. But I hardly call that "Breaking" the game.

Whine less, seriously.

Every time I get on here to read a thread about something informing/entertaining, I can't help but notice you always have an active thread in which you're whining about something. Chill out already!

Typical update, with typical problems, that will be addressed with a patch quickly. Play the game as it is, or turn it off until it's fixed.

Thank you for changing your approach on how you wanted this thread to be perceived. My reply was made in haste, and more so directed towards the former title of the thread. At this rate, i'll be blue like you, lol.

Let's just append that whole post with "These are just warnings to prevent unnecessary crashes/exp loss, but evidently blue name = whining = rate down."

And some of these are downright inexplicable or even dangerous, like Lamia No. 13, or Wyvern Status-na Breath.

These are NOT typical problems! This is like somebody going in, changing something completely random on the test server for the hell of it, and then it gets rolled into the update.

Also, ding 1000

Level sync also kills automatons, don't get suck with activate down if the sync target is close to leveling.

I think whining about using windower is a little redundant now, its nice to be told whats causing crashes, holier than thou attitudes dont wash in FFXI.

In my haste, I posted something negative towards the OP, and now feel foolish as a result. Apologies where appropriate.

Beginning to think having a bad day, and posting on forums, is a terrible mix.

'Aftermath' issue sorted out, related to After-effects of Relic WS not overwriting itself when using WS again (easy for a DRK of that caliber). Or less apparently, the Icon for the after-effect flashes like it's been reset, but the effect isn't reapplied, just wears off when the first one would. Confirmed by another Apoc wielder who timed some swings and his 10% Haste disappears early.

After reading the update notes, I'm curious... does it mean that you can't get the occasional damage bonus from two relics if they are both equipped (like a RDM with Mandau and Excalibur)? Honestly I don't know if that would have worked even in the first place, but reading the update notes made me think it probably did work and won't now... Anyone know?

Not to be a jerk or anything, but that's not exactly how programming works. A lot of the game is interconnected. They might have changed something with how the Wyverns obtain the -na Breaths, probably connected to the level sync feature(Maybe taking specific -na breaths away at low level, I don't know), and it might have broken them temporarily. There are a lot of things connected in the game and assuming things like that just don't make sense. Just because it doesn't make sense to one of us doesn't mean it can't happen. Unless, of course, you develop a 5 year old PS2 MMO and know the ins and outs of the language they used.

I was more talking about the breaking of dispelling charm on Lamia No. 13's fomor buddies to make them attack her. It was kindof critical to the fight, and has no apparent connection to anything in the update notes.

Seems more like a random/rogue/misinformed 'oh hey somebody complained about Lamia No. 13 being easy if you de-charm her friends, so I'll just remove that' somewhere in the works.
