Square Enix Worse Customer ServiceFollow

My Account was Hacked 2 months ago and they make me fill out a afidavid stating i was the original owner of the account. 2 months later and still no word on my account. I think this has to be the worse Customer Service i have ever seen in 5 years of gaming. So even if they do reinstate my account i am going to cancle it anyways. Good Luck to the people that still play just hope you dont get hacked because it takes months for them to do anything about it.

From my experience square enix has never been good with protecting people from hacks or helping them after the fact. Whether or not you like WoW you have to admit they do pretty well on that.

They're delaying because their new policy says you can get your items back if you apply within 3 months of your account being stolen. If they return your account now they would have to follow their policy and do an account restoral.

It's a given SE has horrible customer service. SE treats all people with complaints as the bad guy it seems. I really wish they would move all their support to the US then maybe they would have something compairable to WoW support.

That said - it comes to this: You can play FFXI knowing if you ever have an issue you will probably never get quality support in resolving the issue or you can quit.


As for most of the people flaming you. I am pretty sure they did not get their accounts hacked so they could really care less about your problems as long as it doesn't effect them.

I dont think thats the issue. I just think some ppl are getting tired of seeing posts about how SE customer service fails when we already know that.

The fact that you have actually called more than one video game customer service line (See: "I think this has to be the worse [sic] Customer Service i have ever seen in 5 years of gaming.") makes me think that you're one of those pain-in-the-**** people that harrass call centre members of staff for any little squabble you can get out of them. I might be wrong... but ignorance is bliss.

I had to call their customer services the other day. I had forgotten my password after not playing for months. Thing is, I had forgotten my PlayOnline ID too. Not only that, I had moved house and no longer had the credit card I used to sign up with. And, to make matters worse, I had jumped server so my original character didn't even exist under the same name anymore.
SquareEnix weren't overly keen about this, but a quick conversation with the call centre manager resulted in me getting my PlayOnline ID and password (reset) within 24 hours.

I say SquareEnix deserve praise given the circumstances. And what I say... usually gets ignored, but still...

You dont give praise to an ambulance that shows up to a scene late, even if they come armed with everything needed to solve the problem in the first place.

Praise is given when someone handles a problem efficiently and rapidly - i'll give SE the props on working out this new policy, it was long overdue - but praise?

Praise would have been listening to the playerbase when everyone (but square) knew something was going down - but it took ABC news and Yahoo to make SE realize they had an issue. But hey, SEs mission statement must include 'f*ck the playerbase'.

Let's face it, this game is crack. So waiting on SE's pain in the *** system to get your info back irks people. I'm impressed SE is actually doing something now. Their RMT taskforce seems to be working too. Cut them a break.

SE is only doing something now about the stolen accounts since it went public on the news as to what was going on. SE really didnt care cuz they was still getting there money.

You do if they manage to cover one ambulance per casualty in a nuclear-bomb-sized explosion. Well, maybe not 1:1 but they're trying.

How far you are from the truth. This is the only time i have been hacked but i have 3 friends in WoW that were hacked and two weeks later the toons were reinstated with everything they loss. 2 Months is ample time to investigate and see the ip address wasnt mine.

The Only time SE was actually helpfull was installing the 2007 collection on a vista OS. Remeber its called customer service there job is to help its customers that are paying 1499 a month for there product. I played for 2 years with no problems the least they can do is keep me informed on what the deal is with my account. Flame me some more trolls

Yeah cause SE never do something to help their player base? lol.

If you look at the news on playonline, you'll see their new policy about account hacking. We know they are slow, but they can pull out good things with enough time, except for Pankration.

Did you think about calling them and checking the status? Maybe like someone said they most likely put all requests on standby until their new policy was done. So you could have ALL your things back instead of a bunch of crystals?

Or maybe they cannot tell if your were hacked by a third party or you simply just lend your account to someone who jacked all your stuff.

SE customer service is pretty bad but not as horrible as it's made out to be considering the circumstances. I've had a friend who was hacked in WoW and his lvl 70 character robbed and deleted and they were unable to restore it to him. No service is perfect, and to be honest people should be happy that they're trying to change the way things work at all. If my PC security was lax enough that I got compromised I wouldn't expect someone else to fix up my mess.

I only had to call them once ever and they helped me out just fine. My account was inactive and unpaid for over a year. About 10 minutes on the phone and i was downloading updates and playing with in a hour. Had to have my Pass word reset. Not as big as having my account hacked but the service was still great and fast. IF you cant verify your info it difficult for sure but if you have all your stuff together when you call you shouldnt have any problems.

On another note, did you know that statistically you're five times more likely to share a negative experience than you are with a postive one?
With this in mind, I'd say that this thread is showing that SquareEnix are not the incompetent swines you're making them out to be.

The thing is i had all my stuff together they sent me a affiadavid to state the account was mine.I sent the form back with the public notary seal like they state to do, and i sent them photo copys of POL id all the product keys a copy of the credit card on file and my licence. it should of been a given the account is mine and gotten it back timly. I have called like 3 times in 2 months each time I get the same responce its under investigation and there is no eta so its prolly sitting on some desk in japan. The guy going haha you stupid american. Or godzilla ate it not sure yet, either way i cant play
