Different people get different responses. LS mates get a /salute a /cheer or a /bow most others in passing get a /smile.

I /wave back of course but sometime when a "stranger" waves to me I wonder why but I humble /wave back if that makes his/her day.

Can be hard to remember all you have meet in game sometimes.

Yeah when you are a place and it is laggy it can be hard to see the person who /wave to you, I mostly just do /em waves back.

If I don't see them (lag, running in a hurry, or tired) I just /wave in general. If I see them I wave at that person. If I know them well, I'll wave and send a tell or /say depending on who's around.

I always try to /wave back, subject to varying circumstances.

I never use /wave when greeting party members ... I always /bow.

Also, since I play on a PS2, whether or not I return a /wave may depend on what I'm holding ... if I'm trotting through Jeuno with a lit cigar in one hand and a glass of bourbon in the other while I use my thumb to move my controller, whoever /waves at me will be in another zone by the time I orient myself and find my /wave macro ... in those cases I just wave at the TV from my recliner and hope that the person somehow knows that I reciprocated.

Smiley: yikes

Interesting....

Moving on....

I wave to people all the time. I /wave, /smile, /grin, /poke and /welcome just about every PC that runs past me. Not all at the same time, of course. Just one or two of them. Smiley: grin

Maybe I should be specific about exactly what I wave at the TV?

I always /wave back as long as I notice it. Sometimes I'm a little slow to notice, so I'll just /t whoever /wave. :p

I always at least /smile , especially if I'm running opposite the direction they're going.

If it's one of my LSmates I may do an overly complicated emote, but day to day stuff, a /smile or /wave is enough.

I will almost always do a /cheer in return.

If I know someone I'll sometimes give them a /slap and /em tickles <t>. If I'm feeling cranky I'll /point /laugh then run away.
