Depends on time.

If I'm doing nothing, I wave or poke back. If not, I mostly ignore it.

I never wave, I always /bow or /salute. Depends on who they are to me. Bowing is what my char. would do to be polite. Plus I almost never /kneel. Kneeling down respectfully without actually holding respect, is like kids saying "I LUV That!" all the time. You just can't go around /kneeling all willy Nilly! Then they don't mean anything.

it all depends on who did the waveing. If its some random person, then i just /wave. Its usally not a random person, but someone i've either: pt'ed with, use to be in my LS, or knows someone i know who was in my LS,or i helped.
But i dont remember every name...so i just /wave.
Now if i know the person ill /wave <t>.
If they wave to me and they are from my LS, i /poke them.
If its a RMT, i /s GM {do you need it?}. But only if they spam the motion at me.

I use /wave <their name> to give back that friendly gesture.

I feel happy and warm when strangers who run by wave at me. It's just like real life when you go out for a walk and someone smiled at you then say "Good morning."

I, too, sometime wave to random people. ^^ It's good to see them wave back or even stop for a chat.

I just type a friendly "Yo" in /say.

If I feel like talking to the person or they want to talk to me about something I usually get a /tell a short time after or send them a /tell.

I /wave <t> regardless of if i know them or not, They took a second to wave to me, i can certainly take a second to return the random kindness. If i know the person, i'll usually send them a tell of start a brief "how are doing" conversation.

If a random person starts a conversation with me after the /wave, i'll chit-chat right along with them. Lot's of jerks in this game, so i enjoy every opertunity i can to share a random moment of kindness.

I'll wave to anybody and everybody. Especially if I'm running to the dunes on a lowbie job. Never know who you're gonna pt with and sometimes you can be 4/6 set up by the time you hit the crag. If I'm on my THF I just do /panic and then use Flee to be silly.

Depends on who they are. A LOT of people know me on my server, but I have a bad memory and don't even remember half of them. Most of the time I /wave back, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood to type or to talk to anyone, so I'll just keep on running by. (I know, rude but there are times where I just don't like typing any thing to anyone.)

I always wave back.

You do NOT need to target a player to /emote them, you do NOT have to /wave <t>.

You can simply /wave [insert player name here]..

ie: /wave Lucipherious would result in: [Your name] waves to Lucipherious.

Alot of times people wave to you as your running in one direction they're going in the other direction. Even when stopping and turning around chances are the player who waved to you is not in sight(doesn't appear on screen) so a /wave [name] easily works and the player will see your emote if you do it quick enough.

If you're standing still when you get a /wave and think maybe the player is near but isn't appearing on screen, type /ta [player name] to target him\her and they should then appear on screen.

Depends on who it is.....I often /salute those in my LS but I'll always send a /wave back to anyone who sends one to me regardless of whether I know them or not. I often find myself sending a /bow to anyone in the same party who I know are JP players...for some reason this seems more appropriate.
