This should have stayed IN LS and not been brought to allakhazam, it was mean spirited and I think that you were trying to hurt that girl. Irregardless if she looks like that or not, what does it matter? Are you so shallow that you would be mean to her just over a picture like that? Yes she lied to you, but she didn't steal your items or your gil.

Not to mention, if you get mad over someone doing such a small thing as not putting up their real picture, I would hate to see what you do to others that you perceive have more serious offenses against you. All of this is completely immature and it makes not the girl who lied about a picture look immature and catty, but you.

All I find that girl guilty of is a low self esteem and trying to live up to your expectations. Seeing how you have posted on other threads here, you seem extremely popular within the ls. I am unsure if the post was to make people like you more, or to show people how tough you are, maybe to make you feel better and get revenge for what wrong she did to you.

I have seen the pictures that you linked to on allakhazam.com on your sig on the post and you are an average looking girl. You probably have a good self esteem and that's nice, but it's not ok to make that poor girl feel even worse just for trying to look as pretty as other girls that have posted their pictures.

Please realize that just because someone lies about a picture, that is no reason to ruin a friendship and try to destroy their reputation on the entire server. Yes she is wrong for lying about the picture, but you are wrong for making this more than it is and trying to hurt her in a public way. It was catty and cruel. Please notice that you are now in the wrong, and remember the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Or, even more apt for this situation: People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. (IE: you are imperfect, do not condemn others for being imperfect.


I notice that she (Tempus) is 29. I do not understand how someone that age, and a woman no less, could treat another woman this way. If anything, since apparently the girl helped her in real life, and they had been close friends, she should know that the girl has emotional and esteem issues and would not do this to her.

For all the hoopla over this whole issue, one fact remains. Anuril has a boyfriend. She can't be that bad looking, can she? She probably shouldn't feel the need to hide what she really looks like, but maybe because people make such a big deal about things she probably feels like she's been stalked and that she needs a cover.

My final thoughts on the RL vs In-game gender issue: So what? My RL boyfriend plays a Mithra. I play a female Elvaan. Playing a Mithra doesn't make him gay, and the fact that we both play female characters doesn't make me a lesbian. So the RL vs In-game gender issue is entirely irrelevant.

Not to mention, it's a dead horse. No really, I'm just waiting for it to decay a bit more so I can paint the skull and hang it on my wall.

If someone is being what I feel is a total douche, I won't hesitate to refer to them as their in-game name. RL name though, no, that's not cool.

If you're a gimped player or a player with an overall ****** attitude or whatever, and you irked me enough to make a post about you, you bet I'm going to reveal who you are. I don't feel anyone else should have the misfortune of planning any sort of activity with you without knowing just what kind of person you are.

That being said, using a game name (even in anger), I can understand. But try to leave the RL aspects out of it.

No, I do not condone the taking of pictures at all, absolutely. I would be upset too. The girl was wrong in taking pictures and posting them as her own. I am sure most people on ffxiplayers.com are not really posting their pictures there. People in general do have self esteem issues even if they are outgoing, sometimes.

Aren't we all truly afraid of being judged, even if we are secure in ourselves? Scared to be judged on appearance, personality? I'm sure everyone at some point in time has embellished or outright lied about something to make them look better in the eyes of others. (Resumes anyone?)

Now if it was indeed the case that she is upset and had actually been duped into believing this girl was indeed a man playing as twins or a brother and sister, then I do think there is a problem and I too would be upset. However, reading some of the posts from what appear to be the "brother" and the "sister" I think they are different enough to be believable, but if she can dupe a picture, she might be smart enough to dupe a writing style.

My real point is not even really about the trust issue but that she could have worked it out in a non-public way.

Yes, everyone's at least a little concerned about this; it never really goes away. And whether I like it or not, women are judged more on their appearance than men are (anyone who disputes this only has to look at how "shocking" it seems when a handsome man dates a homely woman versus how common it is to see an ugly little guy with a model-pretty girlfriend); I do understand the temptation to make oneself look a little better. I, uh...just don't think one should make oneself look entirely different by using other people's snapshots. ;)

Oh, and I've never padded a resume; it will almost always bite you in the rear if you do. Your boss will soon figure out that your "extensive Windows experience" really meant knowing just enough to download the latest from Soap Opera Digest Online.



That's definitely what I got from the OP--she seemed to be upset that she thought her friend turned out to be XY instead of XX and felt her trust was broken. Now, I'm just not sure; did she want to reveal a genuine betrayal of trust or expose a onetime friend's shallowness and petty, but human and forgivable vanity? Only the OP could say.



My better nature agrees with you completely. My inner ***** says, "Ah, but how boring would that be, if everyone kept their delicious dramas hidden from the world at large?" (And with that statement, I've revealed my own occasional shallowness and pettiness, I know. Nobody's perfect.)

I do agree with the sweet side more, though--it's a shame if this rather mixed-up emo chick felt so bad about how she looked that she stole photos, and a bigger shame that it was brought to light in such a trainwreck of a thread.

Either you are too young to understand what you are writing, you are trying to be funny or you are a complete waste of space as a human being. People like you really should have to go through what some families have to go through when a loved one does comit suicide, maybe then as you look down at the lifeless body of your loved one you will still find the humour in it or be as calous as you are acting.
