Let me start this message by saying that the person who am I am talking about in this post claims to be twins.
I met Anuril moths ago and invited her to my LS not too long after she intoduced her "brother" Noroelle.

Most of this post is copy and pasted from my linkshell forum. My intention here is to let all you guys know that "she" isnt always the case. People lie and the internet is great for that kind of thing.

While I do belive there is a Alexander/Noroelle and I have found proof that there is. I cannot prove there is no Alendria/Anuril though I'll let you come to your own conclusions.

Liar

« Thread Started on Today at 12:42pm » [Quote] [Modify] [Delete]
When something does not sit right with me IE I feel as though I am being lied to.... I go out of my way to either prove or disprove my intuition.

I have felt for along time Anuril / Norelle were lying to me so I went about my investigation. I first proved to myself that there is no female Alex by searching "her" dob and name... the only results I found was a masculine version.

That was moths ago and I figured I would give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I'm not as good at researching as I thought I was. ( I have spent allot of time working on my family tree and finding lost friends and family)

Then "Alex" sent me new photos of herself that I never posted because I did not believe it was her in the photos. I looked at each very carefully and concluded that each photo is a different person.
I also let this go for sometime wishing there was a way to prove it.
Today I logged onto Anuril's myspace and saw that "she" was using the photos that she had sent me saying they are of her. I became furious because I know that these are not "her".
So off to the proof I go.
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=20395768
thats Anurils myspace if you view her pics you will see the other photos.
Google or yahoo Gothic girls and you will find the same images.

http://www.assiah.net/babes/gothic-babes/index2.htm
http://pantanodesangue.blig.ig.com.br/

Read very carefully the image remarks. One of these pictures is posted from 2004. On Anuril's blog it says that she just had a makeover so to say. So she claims these images are new.

I have screenshots in my photoalbum as-well because I believe that "Alex" will delete these photos when confronted.

http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b63/tempusdesire/Proof/

Moral of the story.. Don't lie to me I will bust you...
Conclusion of the story.... Norelle/Alex is banned from the linkshell

You know, its ironic that the only thing you have accomplished by posting this drab waste of my 2 minutes is made yourself look utterly stupid.

1. The internet is a horrible place to meet people, generally.
2. FFXI is not a "meeting" place anyway
3. So a guy said he was a girl, or had a sister, or some stupid ****? Why the hell does it matter?

You are a bonafide moron indeed.

People lie about gender on the internet. This is news how?

I fail to see the point of this aside from pointing out the obvious.

maybe this person is a closet homosexual who looked toward the internet and FFXI as a way of expressing how they really feel inside where if they were to do that in real life they might face persecution (note this is all hypothetical, or is it, the internet will never tell)

they might have lied with good reason

many people might think this was a waste of time, but if you play on the lakshmi server and now either Noroelle or Anuril you should understand what Tempusdesire is talking about. Anuril has called people "her" friends. To me a friend dosen't lie to another friend even if its the internet. There wouldn't be a problem if it never hurt people i know in RL, but it has.

If another person's character gender, and the fact it's different from their IRL gender, hurts people you know IRL, i think it's time to take a step back and re-examine what's important.

Seriously, folks. This is a game. Who cares what gender the person on the other side of the screen is. If you don't know and someone starts getting too personal, then ask. But I don't see a rule anywhere stating that everyone is obligated to disclose their RL gender just for everyone else's convenience.

I totally feel for the OP. I mean, I had been chatting with this Galka for weeks before I found that they weren't really a Galka at all! They were a hume logging into FFXI and *pretending* to be a Galka. Can you imaging that? It's a sick (virtual) world that we live in.

While it's certainly morally distasteful for a person to be deceitful like this, it's also very difficult to have sympathy for the fooled. It's the internet afterall. Anonymity promotes deception. One should be a little more cautious if you're going to be online trying to "score."

Perhaps it would be best that you didn't use FFXI as a dating/flirting service to begin with. I for one would gladly pass on seeing another horny pubescent boy make awkward, uncharming attempts at cyber-flirting.

That makes two of us. God knows how many 15-year-olds wandering up to me in game and sending me a 'hay baybee' /tell. Of course, the best was this one Taru who asked me to disrobe for his in-game bachelor party...

I only posted this to show the internet community that its easy to be lied to.
My intuition told me a long time ago to not trust this person. I never did.
I know that alot of ppl RP female charecters and vise versa.. I'm ok with that. But when you go out of your way and use other people's identity/photos to back yourself up youv'e crossed a line.

Amazing how you disagree with someone and point out a fact of life and you get rated down for it.

Be still, my little broken heart. I think I'll go cry about it now. My feelings are so hurt. :P /emo

Note:
The first really good social LS i was in (dissolved, many of the players don't play anymore) was great, we were all 'friends' everyone helped everyone else out... AF? Sure. Camp something? Sure.
We all chatted about RL stuff, ya know... social LS.

Well-- There was this couple on the LS, two women, who lived together, etc. I had spoken to them (together and seperate) abot thier lives, lifestyle, persecution, etc... I thought we were close (I was closer to one of them than the other, lets call her "E", and call the other "C"). As I shared things about myself, E shared things about herself and it was cool.

After the LS split up, I took a break and played on and off and many of my in-game friends faded away a bit, including these two.

More than a year later, I bump into E in Lower Jeuno and am like "Wow, how have you been". Long story short I am told she has a baby now, which she gave birth to. I was like "cool, what did you artificially inseminate?" and she said "O yeah, you don't know... "C" is actually a guy and my husband, he just wanted everyone to think he was a chick so we pretended to be lesbians... most of the key members in the LS knew before it broke."

/shocked

And it was funny b/c me and a RL friend who knew "E" in-game were sitting right next to eachother, and neither of use knew...

/shocked x2

She apologized several times and said she only did it b/c "C" wanted her to. At this point I didn't really care, but still... it was a strange feeling.

E and C don't really play much anymore, and I don't really talk to them much anymore either, but this should be a lesson in e-friendship: ALWAYS take anything online with a touch of scepticism, because the anonimity that this world provides is intoxicating and ripe for people to take advantage of it.

Also, never give stuff to female characters for no reason, and no, shaking thier tail in your face is not a good reason.

The thing to remember I believe, is that it is ONLINE. I am only 100% certain of one female character in this game actually being female. And thats because its my wife and we play 3 feet from each other in the same room. So, I am fairly certain the Mithra I flirt with is indeed a woman. People lie, people wish to be other than they are, people are dissatistified with the cards life has dealt them. So they assume personas (Massive Multi-Player Online ROLE PLAYING Game).

I call some of the people in this game "friend". But an online friend is not the same as a RL friend. After all, we'll never hang-out, go to the movies, hang at the beach. Never confuse the two and you will be fine.
