Started game as rdm, got all subjob items as rdm, cleared all of maats little tests as rdm.

Not to say i'm not having fun with other jobs. WHM, BLM, NIN and DRK are (were) all subjobs to rdm, but subjobs usually stop at 37...not 56, 43, 44 and 51 (with full AF on whm and drk before they hit 51). Currently leveling DRK and having a blast at it, might switch over to whm at 56 for static partner...but not sure, although with either job i'll be making a major investment (haubergeron or vermillion cloak). I'm leaning towards DRK, Vassago's Scythe already in Bazaar....

I started out as thf, nope I didn't stick with it, none of my friends needed me as thf, I farmed for like 5hours a day, took a break, come back, and farm more until I finally get all the necessary gears, and everyone were already lvl65+.

I switched to another job to take a break from thf, got it to 60, switch to another job again and got it to 75, took another job to 60, a few jobs to 37 and left thf there at 37, already forgot how much I like that job, and I don't think I can level it because it would be a long and expensive road for me, not to mention no one want me as thf, and I lost interest in it =P

Nope no pride in my job, I just choose whatever I enjoy doing, it's a game and all jobs are equal to me.
I'm one of those that doesn't know how to earn a single gil without camping for hours a day, and one of those that doesn't wanna party with gimp gears (or I'd feel like a leech), so I've spent way too much time on thf gears that I eventually grown sick of it, won't be able to turn back and go back to that job anymore.

The first time I played FFXI, I started as a Taru WHM and ended as a Taru WHM (level 65). I got a bunch of levels in other jobs, unlocked all the special job classes, etc, but didn't play them much.

My only frustrations were that as a Taru, I had real trouble getting started with the melee jobs.

Now, after a year of WoW, I'm back into FFXI as a Hume, so that I'm not handicapped (or blessed) in any job, in case I change from my mage-heavy traditions.

I went into this game blind, no guide no nothing. Ended up as taru thf and somehow got it to 30, where i used it to open all the advanced jobs and never touched it again. I alternate between whm70, bst61, blm37, and smnxX. I promised myself I would never have to "endure" this game, only to enjoy it, and I have.

My first job was Whitemage. I detest not being able to heal and control the flow of battle, so I slipped into the role nicely.

It's 61 now, and busily on its way up. ^_^

I always knew what I wanted to play as... but I get bored... and get tired of scrounging up funds for acc gear.

no and yes.

Before i bought FFXI the only online game i played was THPS4(tony hawk) and THUG games. One day i was skooling everyone on there and meet a dude who could keep up, next day..we skated...then a few months went by, and we became good friends... but then he bought FFXI cuz he wanted sumen else to play. I had to wait a few months to get the cash to get it.
During that time he kept telling me how kool it was and all the jobs.
Now im a big FF fan, iv played them all. so i knew stuff about the game that even he didnt know..cuz i was just kool like that.

So i finally got it, i wanted to be a Galka..needed a name... was messing around online oneday.. found jp word for I'm Tired, Tsukaremashtia..picked it..
Then it was time to pick my 1st job..my plans were to lvl RDM and then sub it with DRG and be a sweet DRG/RDM and RDM/DRG( i didnt know anything abouthow subs really worked)

Loged on and started looking for my friend..didnt know about Servers....i also didnt pick rdm..
i like u picked MNK and went to town... after about 2days of not finding my friend i slept on my comp till he loged on, he got me a world pass... i said goodbye to my lvl 13MNK(soloed it all ^-^) and said hello to my new Galka(changed face) RDM.
Started going with that..and dam..still to this day i can not stand my RDM..all u do is cast the same dam spells...over and over and over...lame!
so when it finaly hit 32..i said f Mages..im galka..i suck at them
Did the DRG qst.... and omg..
Now i bought FFXI to play with my friend from thps4..and cuz i saw RDM and DRG jobs...

69 DRG ..just hit it the other day.

i also have(if i remeber them all):
32THF,37WAR,36WHM,42BLM,32RDM,1MNK(gave it up when i changed servers).. 69DRG,7RNG,22DRK,3PLD,4SMN,18NIN,35BST(my new job love),18BRD,32SAM

so you think uv had it bad loveing all the other jobs..iv seen what most can do lol...

I originally wanted to be a RNG, but at ~21 as a RNG/THF (or maybe at 20 I switched to NIN... maybe. It's been so long. I know I didn't have Utsusemi, though.) I finally gave up on it due to cost and picked up RDM.

I loved that job until I quit for WoW.

I'm back now on a new character (stupid policy) and I'm really liking MNK, though I feel I might return to RDM or even RNG again.

I started play about 1yr and 7mnths ago. I researched all the jobs and decided I wante to play sam, smn, and rdm. Since of those I could only be one, I started with rdm. Leveled that to 30 then I unlocked sam. Leveled sam to about 45 then I just HAD to do something different.

Next, I unlocked smn and leveled it to about 26. Then I got bored again. (God I hate the first 35 levels. >.>)
After this I leveled rdm again. I took it to 50 before I got sick of it again and went back to my sam. Leveled sam to 53 and then went back over to smn. Took smn to 38 then went back to sam again lol. Leveled sam to 66, which is where I am now. On the side I lvled smn to 40 and also did some of the promies.

I'm currently lvling sam now and am not stopping until 75. It rocks so much now, I love it. I guess I'm truly a sam at heart, but I still like to lvl smn and rdm sometimes.

Technically, I didn't stick with one job, but basically I've mainly played sam, I just got bored too easily until it was time for a Haubergeon and some new kick *** WSs. :P

Before the NA release, I worked for a well-known new/used video game retailer. The day of the release I didn't have enough interest in FFXI to buy it and give it a shot, more because I just didn't know much about the game than anything else. When we got the Brady guide, I started reading through it when the store wasn't busy. That was enough to really get my attention, and I decided before I even bought the game that I wanted to be a mithra red mage from Windurst. Currently red mage is my highest job, at 65 (okay technically 64 with 500tnl, but I deleveled so it doesnt count >.>), and am at Windurst rank 7. I've really enjoyed red mage and I've had a blast with all the Windy missions =D

So to answer your question, yeah, I stuck with it. =D

When I started the game, I knew I wanted to play a DD class, because I've always liked being able to dish out hurt when I play an RPG. I also knew I wanted to play a Mithra, because I really like cats IRL. So I was reading over the job list, and I decided that of them all, I liked Black Mage just because I've always enjoyed casters, I liked Ranger because I've always liked longbows in RPGs and knew that rangers were some of the heaviest DDs, and I liked Samurai because I've always thought katana were really cool, and the job sounded really interesting.

I debated starting out as a Thief for the moneymaking aspect, but I noticed that at the time, there were very few Black Mages around in the early levels, and I'd gotten some experience playing someone else's Black Mage character, so I started out as a Mithra Black Mage.

Now, I'm still a Black Mage main, and Ranger and Samurai are still my other two loves. And that's the way it's going to stay. ^^

i met somebody when i first started, he was a 38 drg. i thought he was high lvl at the time.(lol) i loved how drg looked and how it was played. so i myself took up war to 30 and got drg. i lvled and lvled drg and evenetually got it to 75. drg is not a easy job to lvl. many times i thought i was gonna quit the job and/or game. but i stuck with it and got to 75. so just pick the job you really really like the most, ur first passion, and lvl it up. it only gets better. :)

Before I started the game I knew I wanted to be a black mage. I mean, come on - uber damage, right? I was just in love with the idea of being an all-powerful sorcerer.

Then I actually played the game and took black mage a little higher than 50... and in the mean time fell in love with the honorable and righteous paladins who would save my taru butt time and time again. I quit the game for a while and then came back thinking that I was just going to "try out paladin for a little bit to see what it's like and then quit again."

... Paladin 58 at the moment and I haven't looked back! Woot!

35 Blm (^^) 28 Bst (Leveling it soon..) and uhh.. 17 Nin?
My brother has been so rich I have been broke. But I plan to make money as I level samurai (somehow^^.)
So not really. But in the end yeah.

I started out 100% intending to be a career Paladin, and followed that plan up until around PLD50.

Then I decided to level RDM as a subjob, for solo and ballista. I overshot the subjob mark, ever so slightly... so now my PLD and RDM are both 65 (and on hold, while I go level all the subjobs in the world).

Both are my "main" now, I couldn't choose between them.

I intended to become a Red Mage after seeing some screenshots and reading a bit about them, however, i never got it past lv20.

White mage and Paladin started to interest me more and more, and i leveled those two jobs quite far instead.

So no, i did not stick with it.

In a way. I deviated from the path a bit in numerous places, but for the most part. Yes.

I had approached it from an RP perspective: First I picked the 'old' Elvaan.

Then I picked MNK. The idea was he was a disgraced DRG from the last Great War, and had to work his way back into favour. So MNk to represent his isolation from society and his need to rely on himself as a loner.

Then WAR (partly because a good sub for MNK). He has worked his way back into favour and can rely on the state to a certain degree for equipment.

Then DRG. He proved himself worthy to regain his honour and rejoin the order of the Dragoon.

Corny I know ~_~
