Strange Gilseller Pattern/ActivityFollow

I've been leveling my npc at the desert for a few days, and on multiple
ocasions, I see a same group of "gil sellers" EXPing in a very strange way.

They have 5 level 27-28 BLM, and 1 level 55 BRD.

They will pull a mob, mana burn it to hell, then after the mob is dead,
they will invite the BRD and have double ballad to refill mp.

The BLMs are subless, and one time I see them pull a level 40+ dhamel,
they used all mana and only brought it to around 60% hp.

I was like, "What the hell that's totally stupid...."

What I totally don't understand is, why would they level a subless blm?
With no gear what-so-ever. Don't they get resist without equipment?

I can only see 2 possibilities. Either they want to sell the BLM on e-bay,
or they want to level BLM for HNM and god fights. But either way, having
a subless blm is just hugely inefficient... If they manage to bring BLM to
75, they could have spent only a small fraction of their time to level WHM
to 37...

Am I missing something or they are just too stupid beyong my mind?

One thing for sure, mana burn is brainless ><, otherwise they
wouldn't have pick this way to level.

I feel sorry for the BLM community...

Most likely running towards mid game and end game as fast as possable.

I've seen this recently as well - a group of 5 BSTs and a group of 5 BLMs

My guess is the BLMs are for the scorp KS30 battle and the BSTs are for the rabbit BC40 in horlais peak.

Sounds to me as though they intend to rape BCNMs for the old Charm/Hairpin/Boot/etc, so they don't have to do actual work to get their money.

On the one hand, we've just made it easier to get those items. The only limit to the number of times you can do these BCNMs is the number of seals you get, as opposed to only one shot every 24 hours.

On the other hand, gilsellers will never be able to monopolize those mobs again, seeing as how BCNMs are open to anyone with seals. So, even if they do secure a steady supply of peacock charms for the market, nobody will be required to buy at their rapidly inflating prices...

I would have thought levelling jobs to do BCNMs as a gil seller must be a horrible inefficient way to go, since you have to spend bloody ages farming either Beastman Seals or Kindred Seals, and you're not guaranteed good drops even when you have managed that.

I've heard it's not uncommon to get under a million in drops on the Scorpions. And how long would it take to farm the 30 seals needed to get in?

I have been in a PT with a gilseller. (I was desperate.) She was a RDM... who just sat there... and didn't do much of anything.

It seems to me like the only reason to level a job without a sub is to be high level enough to run around in a zone without being aggroed, like getting 50ish for aggro-free mining in Gusgen. If all you wanted was to avoid aggro, leveling a sub might not be time-efficient.

I find the BCNM theory a little hard to believe. As others mentioned, seals are not easy to come by, and leveling a sub would actually get more of them, as well as make them better for BCNM fights.

Lastly, it is possible that they are not gilsellers at all, but a group of friends who just wanted to do something crazy like level their mules with no armor or subs.

From my experience, the droprate on scorps is actually pretty bad.

On Carby, I still see one gilseller claiming Chyme.........Either he -changed-, or the people who control him are stupid and/or havn't gotten the drop yet.
