[Atti's FFXi] -Through a Hackers' eyes-Follow

I will start this self-confession with some facts about me.
I am 16 years old, have friends, have a decent life, and a slight obsession with ffxi. I believe I have finally quit though.

If you see me, (my name is Atticusx on Bahamut) tell me to get the hellz off.

Well, thats all interesting, but not why I'm writing this. I started playing FFXi as soon as it came out for PC in 03. I loved the game and slowly leveled up. Due to some reasons, I had to quit in spring 04. I was about lvl 35. There died the 'legit' Atti.

That summer, when I got ffxi back, I was different. I had played diablo II, and learned about bots and hacks, though I was quite a noob still. I donned the name "Atti". I became obsessed with gil, and within months became decent with ACTool macros. I started releasing my macros and I loved it! FFXi had become a drag again, and I willingly left it for WoW (in early december 04).

I stayed clean in WoW for about 10 levels, until I re-found blizzhackers (from D2), then I hacked and botted. I read about hacks, and I learned some C++ and C#.
I had access to all the paysites (free for me of course) and somehow never got caught. I liked WoW, but in spring I started remembering FFXi, and was persuaded to come back to it by a good friend whose name I wont disclose.

But now, simple macros werent enough. I began experimenting and even cracked FastFingers (I dont pay for anything :D ). The chocobo hack wasn't enough either. For some time I had been trying to make a similar program to Mobius ((from WoW)) for FFXi. During the next month, I figured out how to edit XYZ, player status, and how to change the amount of stackable items I had (doesnt work anymore to my knowledge).
I also made the program that I dubbed "Ghost". I kept it between me and a friend for a month or so.

During this time I learned alot from the maker of FFACT, starhawk, who also secretly hacked. I began understanding a lot. I gave advice to many people and I admit I liked being in a position of power.

The day MrArgus, and all of those JP hacks were discovered, I decided to go public with Ghost (knowing ffxi had gone to hell, why not have some fun?). I posted it on some forums, and it was promptly deleted by moderators.

My PM box filled to the max with questions about Ghost and hacks. For a time I kept ghost to myself, but by now I had realized I no longer enjoyed ffxi.

Atti's two main activities)
-Bot a NM
-Hack after it spawned to go to the next NM

I cancelled my account earlier this month, though I still update SrArgus (english MrArgus) and Ghost (which is buggy for many people). I have moved on from gaming mostly, but I thought I would share my experiences.

Don't become like me; someone who hacked and cheated so much that I barely played or enjoyed doing so. I was Cheating for the sake of Cheating. Enjoy the game, or else whats the point?

As of which, I will be having a "going-out" party later this month. I'm hoping to show off some hacks in public and have fun getting banned. I do not wish to return to ffxi again.

For those who ever knew me, now you know the real me. I sincerely hope that my actions or the JPs who released mrargus actions do not affect you too greatly (hence the patches earlier this month).

SE, im sorry. :P but kiss my cheating, unbanned ***.

Hope someone found this entertaining, It is a true story ^^

Sincerely,
Atticusx, Bahamut
AKA: -=Atti=-

EDIT) this is also a mix of tiredness and waiting for the servers to come back up. /confused.

Stop trying to give Atticusx of Bahamut a bad name.

If you want to ruin his reputation, insult him head on.

This 'company' was created by IGE.
IGE Now effectively owns Allakhazam.

I'm actually interested in Hacking, not really FFXI hacking, but hacking in general. Mabey it's just because I want to work with computers a lot, but I have a lot of interest in how C++ and stuff like that works.

Sometimes true stories are not worth the time it took to write them :/ Doubt anyone cares anything of your supposed accomplishments, your intention with the thread was an obvious attempt to blow your own horn. Attention ploy, people who try to get fame and attention by messing with game mechanics are amongst the most pitiful you come accross in online games.

So... You're encouraging people to not cheat, yet you're continuing work on cheating programs? You'll have to excuse me if I don't move you to the top of my Hero List.

Many ppl sound like you enjoy hacking computer systems and are very proud of yourselves. I have been in the computer field since the mid 70's and have never found the excitement in harming other people and causing serious problems for buisnesses. Only children would be proud of themselves for causing so many millions of $$ in damage to ppl that you don't even know.

I wish you luck in your computer career and will write you while you complete your prison term. You will get caught eventually, guaranteed. I've always wondered what the feeling of pride was like while sharing a prison cell with 7'2" 'Bubba'. Please tell us in a few years what its like and how proud you are of your hacking accomplishments.
