Agreed. Nothing pisses me off more then either forming a party, heading out, and 20 minutes later having someone disband. What pisses me off even more is when I get invited out to replace someone, and then 20 minutes later 2 people decide to leave.

Today I got a whm and a rdm (I think) in the dunes to join my pt and we were going to go to korroloka tunnel to kill worms, so we walk all the way to bastok and as soon as we get to bastok the rdm says I gotta go xp with my static >< It didn't really matter though, as I levelled anyway after inviting some other people there.

It's even worse when you wait for them to run 20 minutes from Selbina to your camp all the way across the Dunes, because they had to "do some stuff." And when they get there, they say they have to go RIGHT as you pull the first mob. And of course, it is obligatory that they are the white mage, so as they log off your entire party is brutally killed by a train of Damselflies.

Careful there, Sogoro. The internet hates Christians who express their beliefs, and people who ask others to change their wording.

In reply to the topic, you can only expect so much when leveling anything in a low range. It still occurs in the intermediate-upper leveling, but not nearly as often.

Haha, so true.

Anyone who does that with me gets an immediate /blist - unless it's like, "My car caught on fire gotta run!" or "My dad's having a heart attack! /shutdown" - and I /sh Thank you, <t> for gracing our party with your five precious minutes of exp'ing. Tends to prevent them from getting many more parties in the next several days.

Try this one out, I'm sitting in Jeuno LFG on my SMN. Forget which level I was, but judging by the leveling location you can get an idea.

Pt Leader >> {Looking for party} {Boy. Tree}?
Xerphon >> Sure, Leaving now.

Grab Chocobo, head to Zi' Tah, get right near the zone to Tree and notice the entire party just zoned out of Tree. I get to them, get off my chocobo....

Idiot #1: Thanks for pt all, I have to go.
Idiot #2: Yeah me too, bye!
Pt Leader: Ok I guess we disband

The party proceeds to disband in front of my eyes before I can even type a 'wtf'

Needless to say I was VERY pissed off, LFG for hours to get a pt and have it disband within 10 seconds of my arrival. No matter the level, there's always going be stuff like this happening...

This might be a bit off topic but I hate joining Parties with players that are /anon. It usually means they are playing with gimped subs or 3-4 levels higher/lower then you.

If you don't read VG cats, then life is not worth living!

Anyway. This may suprise some people, but everyone can't stay around forever. People leave after 5 minutes for a lot of reasons, which I'll bet a lot of very loud complainers never really thought of. Like, they hate the party. I've left parties after five minutes because the pt leader was obnoxious, or nobody worked together well at all. Everyone blames everything on everyone else, and goodbye party. If you get there and two people leave five minutes later, maybe your arrival had something to do with it. Maybe they were waiting for some replacements...who knows. Don't ***** if you don't know.

A. This is a public Message board. I don't give a darn if you agree with my beliefs or not, just have some decency.

B. Why do you guys troll people for saying their opinion? I disagree with the word usage of the OP but if he doesn't feel it is wrong ultimately it is his decision. However I will not rate hime down for this because it is his choice. But I digress.

There is one thing when leading a party or getting a party invite to look out for. Do these things.

When leading: Always ask how long each person can play, make sure they are prepared, and make sure they know what they are doing.

When geting invited: Ask how long everyone can play, be fully prepared when you get invited, and always be willing to provide your own transportation to the camp.

Please give a reason for rating me down.

everyone knows that things happens in life and gotta leave asap. What the original poster was saying that if you join a pt and gotta leave in 20 min for non-emergency things then dont bother at all.

things like;
I gotta sleep
I gotta do homework
I gotta go somewhere
I have to work

Ya it annoys me to be searching for an invite for an hour only to be invited to a 30 min pt. My night is wasted since I spend roughly 3 hours on weekdays. If I cant get an invite within an hour, I go do something else.

How about the /tells you get from PT leaders asking you to join their PT only for them to reply that you took too long in replying and they got someone else instead. What? 10 seconds is too long of a wait for a reply? sheesh...

I am always anon because no matter what I am doing and if I am in a party or not, I get constant tells to party... If you were in my party all you would have to do would be ask, <job> takes 2 seconds to type. LOL :D

<==== 57 Rdm no matter what sub I have or if I'm in a pt or not I always get invites just because of my job so I always stay anon even when I'm with my set pt I stay anon and so I forget to take it off when I pt normally heck I've kept anon on while searching for a party and not know it lol I'm so used to having it on I completly forget about it....

As for the pt thing ya it does get annoying when you go out of your way to join a pt for an hour of xp which in the higher lvs barely makes a dent in your xp bar =/

I've seen some of those people...for some of them, its a way of life... I actualy had a friend who -got upset- because a party would not let him/her join when she said she had to leave in 25 minutes... Some don't even understand the problem... Yes in many games 25 minutes is enough...but this one its the time it takes just to explain who's the SATA buddy and what the skillchain is...

Fact is...certain MMOs like this one take dedication. Its an important hobby for many of us and yes, we take it seriously. "Waaaah! its just a game! Don't take it that seriously!". Yeah...in theory, many olympics events and professional sports are just games too...and those people revolve their lives around them... (and not always for money reasons.) So please... while I understand some stuff can't be avoided...if you don't take the game seriously...assume it and don't make people who do pay for it. If for you it is not a big deal to leave a group in the middle of a pull because your boyfriend/girlfriend (that you met 2 days ago of course) just called and its SOOOOOOO important... then maybe your place is not here... or just play a damn BST and leave the others be. Everyone has a different level of dedication: assume it. Have a static with friends who know what kind of person you are...

Exemple: I'm a very dedicated player (have stayed well over 24 hours straight in XP groups as a healer where the DDs and tanks kept being swapped out, but no healers were available to replace me...but thats a lil extreme). If someone (my mother, a friend, whatever) in real life asks me for something...and I am in a group: Sorry, i'm busy. If I have to go...I'll inform said person in real life to give me ~30 minutes or so, inform my party, and thats how it will be. Many people -in those same situations as me- (keyword! same situations!), will tell their group "Sorry!!! gotta go!" and just drop group. Yes, there are emergencies (if your house is on fire...I guess you have the right to drop group), but fact is, 80% of the time when people drop group after 10 minutes...it wasn't even for that big of an emergency...they just have priorities, and the game is not it. Good for them. But pleeeeeeeeeeease assume your personality, and don't make people pay for it. Again, play a beastmaster >.<

Or another exemple is "The WHM who is a 35 years old mother of 12 kids" and has to go AFK in the middle of a pull every 3 pulls. If your real life is that busy, please just...play a BST or quit the game... its not for you. Because of my life and what I have to do...I cannot be dedicated to, let say, a hockey team in some kind of league. You don't see me joining one anyway and just bailing out every match. Same goes for a game like this. You have your life, your priorities, if they prevent you from playing the game legitimately without ******** up others, then don't play. (or for the third time, play a BST. If you have to go AFK and get yourself killed, you just get -yourself- killed).

Sorry for the long rant.

Alot of people find the title of this topic offensive. Why don't certain people understand that and just admit they KNOW it's offensive and they have no regard for anyone. If I joined your party and you started using crude language, I'd have less than 5 minutes myself. Yes, (flame me now) grow up, because using crude immature words do show how unthoughtful and childish you are.

Some people when looking for members/replacement ask 3-4 people at once and take the first one that responds.

As for me. 2 hours is my min. If I feel that I don't have 2 hours to devote to seeking/partying then I go farm or something.

Occasionally, it happens.

Generally, I'll warn a party if I'm in circumstances where I might be interrupted. (Not USUALLY a problem - side benefit of playing at the wee hours in the morning.) But every so often, you'll have one of those days where you pull half a dozen mobs and then become virulently ill or something.

I do find that I tend to leave parties a lot faster if they're already for some reason suboptimal.

But yeah, it's very rude to invite replacements and then break the party up before they arrive. If people are going to take off, decide right away; it's better to break up the party then, instead of dragging some poor soul away just to not party with them.
