I came to read this all ticked off about GMs treating NAs like crap and letting JPs get away with all kinds of BS. And the jps knowing it and egging NAs to call GMs. but then my male nature took over. The guy thats 1/2 jp 1/4 irish 1/4 scott.... do you have a sister?

As a matter of fact, I do have a half sister (Irish, Scott, and German doesn't have the Japanese blood as we have different mothers) So, just out of curiosity, why does it matter?

Big surprise we complain, SE gives us the short end of the stick most of the time. If the shoe were on the other foot he'd be the one ******** about how he pays his fee and the servers are down always on jp prime time, or how americans claim all the nm's because we have a 4-5 second advantage, or how amercans have a one year head start and use it to bully others. Ironically he is whinning about whinning and therefore a hypocrite. Next tme he sends you a tell to ***** say "<blacklist> <you can have this>"

Or, he will be mature enough to understand WHY the servers are down during his prime-time hours. He'll understand the ping time difference and why it exists. And he'll be mature enough to understand that not everyone has the luxury of starting on the ground-floor.

And he'll be mature enough to not whine about it. Maybe the JP in question was unhappy with the recent patches/nerfs and having an NA ***** (someone crudely) about it was the last straw for him. The changes to the AH pricing were done to try to satisfy NA complaints about inflation. What in the blue hell were all the whiners expecting? I pain-free fix so they could go about their merry lives without concern?

Yeesh...coddled by mommy too much were we? Life is hard. Solutions to problems often involve sacrifices.

People complained, and S-E listened and made some POSITIVE changes to the game.

The increased AH fees will help to cut down the inflation and rebalance the game.

The lower prices paid by NPC for fish will benefit everybody except a very tiny minority of high level fisherman who were making too much gil.

The servers AREN'T down during NA prime time. Maintenance issues generally last until maybe 6 PM EST at the latest. Normal Americans can occupy themselves with the jobs they have to go to, and then with other things for an hour or two. It's the people addicted to this game that can't bear to do something else with a portion of their free time.

If anybody has any right to complain about the time the servers go down, it's us Europeans. But, funny, you hardly hear us saying anything about it. Perhaps we're sensible enough to accept that a dozen or so evenings every year we shall be unable to log into FF11. Maybe the price has some people agrieved, but the Pound->Dollar exchange rate is so favourable to importers over here, that I am basically paying the monetary equivilent of peanuts to play this game.

And with reference to the second point, I'm goning to make a massive generalisation here, but the people who post most regularly on this board are the ones addicted to the game as well. In a world with so much you can do, it surely can't be that much of an upset to your day to go and do something else while the maintinance cycle is taking place.

i dont mean to sound harsh, but you are BOTH wrong. the JP player is wrong for categorizing all american players as whiney complainers, and you are wrong for assuming that JP players are trying to push NA players out of the game.

let's sit back and take a look at this rationally for a minute. ONE JP player was speaking to you. he doesnt represent all JP people. ONE NA player was shouting in jeuno about the tax (that being you). you dont represent all NA players. i know several bilingual JP players who are extremely friendly. i know some who are total a$$es. same goes for NA players. this isnt about race; it is about specific people whom that JP person found annoying. it is also about a specific JP person who chose to voice his opinion about NA players by generalizing us all under one category.

BTW, the JP players have a SLIGHT advantage when it comes to NM camping. by slight, i mean less than a second. if anyone with a paid account would like to look up the thread, there was one posted a while back, and it turns out that the difference is closer to fractions of seconds instead of "4 to 5."

and, in case no one has seen this yet, the last few updates have NOT been on NA high-time. they have taken place in the morning and early afternoon, when most NA players would be in work or school.

since the JP player's comments dont reflect us as a country per se, maybe those of us who DO complain a lot should take the time and think: should we really be complaining about this? "this" being whatever you want to complain about. since SE has changed the times they perform updates, it isnt worth it to complain anymore. and what exactly CAN SE do about the time difference in claiming NMs? sure, there are gilsellers, but look at what has happened now. we have outragious taxes on all high-priced items. SE is not able to please all people, and they may attempt to fix things while actually making them worse.

bottom line: if you have a complaint, first think this: what COULD SE do to fix it? if there is no answer, why complain at all?

Wow.. this was one helluva thread to read through.

I just have one thing to say, and I think it's quite fitting:

The grass always has been, and will always be, greener on the other side.

That's just the way it is. Period. People will complain no matter what the hell is going on in any given circumstance.
Best thing to do is to not pay any attention to other people complaining and just try to pay attention to whether or not you are complaining (and if it's really worth it).

Waaa stuff got nerfed after we complained about this and that. Deal with it. We complained about things costing too much, so SE fixed the AH so that those that want to sell overpriced items have to pay more for the privilege to do so. We complained about people hogging mining and logging points so SE stepped in and is forcing people to zone every once in a while if they want to keep getting the goods. So the taxes in Jueno are higher, here's a tip, Don't Sell Things There Then! OMG! What a simple solution to your *********

#112Koolid, Posted: Jan 21 2006 at 7:47 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Where the hell did you get that from? I live on one of the top 3 servers gilseller-population-wise, and theres not ONE NA Gilseller on my server, they are all chinese, and some are japanese. I don't mind playing this game with Japanese, and Europeans, it makes the game alot more interesting, but I seriously hate it when Japanese players think we're not good enough to party, so they form party's without you, example: Yesterday, I was seeking for 5 hours before I gave up, and I asked a *** if he wanted to party, he said "English No Thanks", then he invited everyone who was seeking to his party...

So how is that simple abbreviation any more offensive than calling me (an Englishman) a Brit? Or calling a Scottish man a Scott?

Am I missing something here or is it the Americans getting all touchy feely moany whiny politically huggy correct again?

TBH I don't know any, nor have I heard any offensive words for the "UK" community, but *** was use to degrade the japanese that were in camps during WWII, and over time, it's not so much an abbriv of the word, it's how it was used for the longest time, I have a uncle that was in one of those camps, and I hate being called a *** as much as being called a nig. And no, America is not becoming like that, if it was, there would be more people marrying their cousins and having babies with their sisters again.

It's not so much the gilbuyers, it's the retarded ones. Just because you can buy 20 mil, doesn't mean you need to over bid on say..a 1.1mil astral ring, for 8mil just because you can..so I tbh don't blame gil buyers or gil sellers in general, just the retarded ones.

there are good NA and good jpn ppls all around.
you just happened to talk to a jpn guy with no honor and fits in the "jpn complainer" just as we have our own too =D

You have to remember thats the prob will hume, they always think they are right, or wont admit it.

to live is to die... i guess thats how he enjoys to play the game,
is to complain about the complainers =D

p.s. btw its everyone in the sever not just NA or GS i feel.
all it takes is one person to jack the price and guess what who's not going ot follow a higher price...

In japan, people rarely complain. They learn to deal with it and live their lives accordingly. Lots of women in Japan rarely report sexual harrassments and women are treated like objects. Unlike America where feminists and activists have complained and fought long enough for women to be treated equal.

This REALLY caught my eye....read it 2 times before I got a chuckle out of it.

It is neither the Japanese or Americans fault for the problems within FFXI. You cannot put all that is wrong with the game on someone else, in an attempt to clense yourself, it doesn't work like that.

oh and don't bring back 2yr old threads, ty ^^
