Woot, a discussion about the Matrix! I want in!
First of all, I won't touch the MMO game. I haven't looked into it, am not "too" interested in it, and I've too much time invested in FFXI to be floatin around (I don't want to grow a beard like Father Time due to not leaving the Computer o.O) I like the idea to expand the Matrix Concept, although I feel it should've been done in a 4th movie, rather than in a MMO open-ended game.

Now, everyone hates the second two movies. And I don't understand why! I left the theater both times, upset a little, but not disliking them. Yes, the plot was predictable. What isn't in movies, especially a trilogy, nowadays? The most distaste I noticed was shown in Revolutions due to confusion with what Neo actually was. Some I've discussed with also didn't like the reintroduction of Agent Smith in the second, and didn't understand it.

The fact is, "The Matrix", the 1999 title that everyone loved...was great because it was a Hard to grasp, on the edge, new age movie with new special effects, and a warped idea not generally seen in movies at the time, especially in Sci-Fi. After a long LONNNG 4 year wait of anticipation for the second movie, everyone longed for the same thing. Wrong! And why? Cause it's not a new movie...it's a continuation of the first. This is exactly why it's going to be a Cult Classic in years to come, because of that. Star Wars didn't do that...they hyped, and beefed up every aspect that they could of the Prequals to make them better than the originals. This spelled disaster for George Lucas and everything that is and was Star Wars. The Matrix on the other hand, stayed the course from the original movie, and the general public disliked that mainly because it wasn't what the "general public" likes. They want bigger, better, greater! Well nope, not with the 2 Matrix sequals. Sit down, and watch all three in a continuous session. It'll seem a lot better than with a 4 year gap to kill it.

My roomate is in the Matrix Online Beta but i haven't watched much more than character creation and a bit of him running around early, looked kinda boring. He likes it though so maybe you will too. I'm looking at getting Everquest 2 it looks amazing and like it's going to blow away final fantasy. no 2 characters will look alike and it just looks impressive as hell. I also play Planetside and am a CR5 of the Terran Republic, my account has been turned off since July but i'm probably going to get the 20 dollar play any game you want thing so i can play planetside and EQ2 both. I'm still planning on playing FF11 because i love all the final fantasy's but if EQ2 kicks way more *** i will probably eventually move away from FF.

also on a side note Metal Gear Solid 3 is coming out within a month I will be away for a few weeks when that is out LOL.

Matrix1 - cool
Matrix2 - bad Cadillac commercial and very pretentious.. Only people who still dress goth and drug addicts actually thought it was cool
Matrix3 - was a knife plunged into the face of a twitching corpse

I didnt like the last two because they had about as much cinematic value as Joe Versus the Volcano. Although I must admit that Joe vs the Volcano didnt have expensive crash scenes and computer animation to hide it's suckiness. Joe Vs Volcano also had better actors.

I don't like happy endings personally. The Matrix did have a happy ending though. The fact that the third one will be the last is happier than words can express.

I have only played Halo one time at a friends house chilling out having some tasty alcoholic beverages and i thought halo was cool. i've only played a few levels and it was fun, maybe the ending sucked or something but from playing a little bit of it seemed ok to me.

i dont know anyone who thinks halo sucks. all my friends love it >.> in fact, none of them play ffxi, just halo and other shooters =(

matrix one was great. it was original, cinematography/effects were awesome. i even though keanu was okay in it.

the second movie sucked because it was boring. it was boring not because i didn't "get it", but because the dialogue was trite, the storyline predictable. the acting was subpar. and that fight scene with agent smith where there were just more and more of them? besides looking really fake (which isnt reason enough to not like it) it took FOREVER. my boyfriend and i started twidling our thumbs and looking for something to talk about after about, oh, FIVE HOURS of neo and agent smith fighting over and over and over and over...

Too true, but all sequals fall to this. The First ones great and groundbreaking, but the sequal has to as well, but it also has to have everything in the last one.

The only Sequals that are good are ones not based around special effecets.

Anyway, back to the game it self:
