I used to have DSL and would DC every 15 mins. I switched to Charter Cable about a month ago and have DC'ed twice.

I see that most of you that are having this problem have DSL. Switch to cable for the love of all that is holy. It'll save you much time and aggrivation. I did and now I'm a happy customer.

I have Verizon DSL.
I have DC'd maybe a total of 3 times since I started playing the game. Last night though, I DC'd every 2-5 minutes it seemed like. I was freaking out, and very upset at this problem. I heard that a few other people were DC'ing when I was too, and all of us were in Jeuno when we were DC'd. So I stepped out into Sauromongue Champaign (I so butchered that word I'm sure) and I didn't DC anymore... So, maybe Jeuno was just one hell of a lag-fest last night or something. I don't know.. LOL!

I was asked 3 times yesterday if I knew where to get to the Jueno map. Maybe the nÖÖbie train came in last night.. lol, who knows though...

<--- Must get back to work!

Alot of us were last night regardless of platform (PS2 or PC) . I was getting errors I've never seen before last night on my comp. Static THF was getting strange d/c's on her PS2.

Yup, same problem here. Only ever DCd once or twice ever, but last night in Qufim I kept freezing up and getting booted every 5 minutes or so (as were my PT members)...good PT too, so that made it even more annoying.

They meant a backbone router issue, and I blieve that. I work on backbone routers for a living and what it was doing was very similar to flapping by a connection.

Exactly the issue in question.

Corosato, I'm curious, the backbone router would mean that their servers are causing US to not connect to THEM correctly right? Because everyone I know with the problem connects to the internet just fine, but has issues in-game then. So a backbone router would mean that SE's signal is having issues getting out? I'm very curious about the technical aspect of this ^^

Guess I wasn't the only person. I'm using Roadrunner cable right now. The strange thing was I was fine for about 3 hrs pting. Then after I left the pt, went to eat, came back...and I started to get DC ever few mins. Go that I was farming and nothing bad happened to me. Get fed up for the DC problem and called it a night.

Well, another Rdm in my pt last night disconnected around 5 times over the course of the evening, but my previously unstable connection was rock solid. A few other people in my linkshell were also disconnecting, and I believe they all said they were using Verizon DSL.

My connection has actully been running properly since they patched. =\ I wish they'd find a happy medium and fix this crap. I did however get booted out of POL completely while walking through Port Jeuno last night on Fenrir. It happened about 4 times before I reset the system and BAM, no more issues. If you're getting constant D/Cs, try resetting the computer. Can't help you PS2 users unfortunately. Oh yeah, and don't bother trying to contact a GM about it. They'll just try to tell you it's all you...all...you......you....you...

Edit: Damn typos....how do you sneak in like that?!

First time ever D/C was last night, whole PS2 locked, reset button didn't even work.

Aside: ReturnNull Would you mind knocking out the "pre" tags in your post.
It's causing the page to scroll horizontially and it's difficult to read.

you i am that close to start laugthing at yall new comers to the 4001 error simply because mostpeople that did not have this problem before were ... at us back when we was trying to find a solution to it
but anyway i still get the error but not has often has i used to

before the patch
-using a wired connection to my router
every hour or so
-using a wireless connection to my router(wireless gaming adaptator)
every 20 minutes or so

now
wired connection
7-9 hours without errors
wireless
2-3 hours with no errors
