Tradeskill Discussion: Should all made gear be attunable?Follow

Once the devs came up with the attunable tag it has been used pretty heavily.

Pros:
-tradeskillers get to make the gear for all the alts that want it (kills hand me downs)
-assuming more than one person on a server bothers to make the gear, there would be more competitive pricing
-attunable equates to consumable, so it is a plat sink for the individual using it
-puts more challenge into gearing up

Cons:
-makes it harder to gear up on normal loot rules servers (hand me downs killed)
-plat sinks fuel all aspects of the economy, and some people don't like all that brings
-for many the "challenge" of gearing up would just be a more tedious farming to buy the gear, if instead of competitive pricing this caused higher pricing due to more demand


The title question may not be that relevant for the 75+ game (maybe some others can chime in), but I have been thinking about it since Vulak progression server and think they should retroactively make tradeskilled equippable gear attunable for all the pre-PoP content. I think this addresses a big part of the "gear is too easy to get, there is no accomplishment in the content because we are so overgeared so easily, tradeskills aren't worth doing if you aren't the #1 maker of that skill and so on).

Note: The other big part on pre-PoP progression is the need for a whole bunch of drops to either be nodrop or attunable as well. That's a different discussion though.
