I've been forum lurking for months. If you waste time on the official boards I pop in from time to time in my (perhaps misguided) attempt to be a voice that wants to steer EQ towards more fun for all playstyles.
Real life has been busy in great ways: Snailish Jr. is almost 5 months old (our first!), we're selling our almost-new house and likely renovating a long-term family property likely resulting in me being off internet (or very intermittent) for 4-6 months. If this happens it won't be livable for at least 3 months... living with in-laws in a small basement.
I actually unsubbed EQ for the first time in years due to the selling/renovating/moving situation, but I hadn't logged in and constructively played since probably December though in truth I have been a mostly ineffective super-casual player since early 2017. I bought RoS near launch and haven't logged into one zone of it, and I wonder if the live game will ever pull me in again? Ironically, Agnarr is finally at a content spot I was more excited about playing in (I had no interest in Coirnav's lower XP version of Phinny... needed to be the opposite to get alt-crazy me playing as the slow early XP on Phinny burned me out on Phinny. Besides, classic in classic I actually don't enjoy all that much). I wonder if anyone will be left playing on Agnarr by the time my moving situation settles and I log back in?
The rumours of a 20th anny progression server next year could be my draw back in, should it be a good fit. Phinny rules, high XP, Kunark or Velious start would be great for me. Level 105 heroics might do it too... and a new race TSS like 1-120 (or whatever cap would be) expac absolutely would, but that is not a good bet to put money on happening.
I've done very little contributing to the site here lately, and Gidono, Bobbybick, Larth et al have it looking the best it has been in years. I did nuke a forum thread about buying essays today though --so I've still got it!
I do encourage people playing on progression, or bored on live to seriously update the reporting on LoY and LDoN content though. While much of the old info should remain true, there is a fair bit of rumour-speculation about spawns and gaps, especially for the events in LoY most never do and the LDoN raids. So many named in LDoN (achievements really put a light on that) that most have never seen. Sometimes it is just nice to have a current post saying the 2004 poster was accurate and this remains true on progression/live.
What's interesting in EQ for all of you lately?
