Server crashes plague Daybreak Games

These server crashes have been happening almost on a daily basis now since this summer, since their back end work on the servers started.

I'm speculating here but I'm thinking the back end work also meant they downgraded their services with their data center and put all the older servers onto less powerful servers in order to save money. Now I'm thinking the servers can't handle the load. I don't think it's DDOS because if it was, the whole network would be affected. This issue is only targeting certain servers.

What do you guys think?

I logged in on Cazic a few hours ago where I have my lvl 105 cleric. The crashing and lag was so bad I logged out again without playing. And I couldn't log out properly as the zone crashed when I logged.
While I was still online I asked in the guild lobby if the lag is always so bad. They said it is, pretty much. I'm surprised anyone can do anything.
I haven't played for a few years and am looking to see if I can play casually. EQ has always been my 'safe place'. However, if all servers are as bad as my experience was today I will need to look elsewhere for a comfy home. :(

I've been on FV for weeks now (jumped back from TLP Phinnie) and no noticeable lag at all.

I, too, unsubbed at least a month ago. Haven't logged in since then. I have decided its time to move on and have been having fun playing Rift. Obviously, I still come here now and then to see what is going on.

Have to admit I've had no problems on FV, when I do find time to log on. And often I just leave a toon up in my Guild Hall for hours so I can monitor chat and when I come back every few hours I'm never disconnected or crashed.

I'd be curious as to what environment they're using -- we've seen this at the enterprise level with MS 2016 offerings that are clustered.
