The Sullon Zek Ruleset, prior to Luclin LaunchFollow

I played a bit on SZ and it was a crazy place. I never got very serious about it because the penalties for losing PvP were so severe and ganking was so common. I do recall SZ always had the lowest pop of the 4 PvP servers and, IIRC (correct me if I'm wrong) it was the first of them to be merged due to low pop.

If they could actually ban cheating, Pvp EQ would still be a lot of fun. Guild wars were a blast. I wonder if it's still possible to declare a guild war? Probably not. But that was a whole 'nother kind of EQ and talk about getting your mind off leveling and phat loots. Knowing that an entire guild had it in to kill you definitely focused your attention razor-sharp on one thing: staying alive! No NPC is as dangerous as a white, yellow or red-con PC!

That's unfortunate. Because even if classes are unbalanced in PvP a guild war went far toward restoring the balance since presumably each guild would have a similar mix of the classes, both those overpowered and those underpowered for PvP.
