It's been a pretty boring few weeks for me in EQ. I have been farming plat to gear up all of my Heroic chars. The Bazaar prices of late have been horrendously expensive. I usually leave a char logged in to the Bazaar and periodically do a search for decent prices on the gear I need. I have set a 10K ceiling as the amount I am willing to pay, so it is slow going. Items that I need are frequently available, but at prices I refuse to pay. With unlimited funds, I could have completely geared up all of the chars within a few days, but that is not a financial situation my chars are accustomed to.

I am close to completion now mostly thanks to a few sellers who seem to deliberately price their goods at very reasonable values. GOOD on them! Smiley: clap

PS Are there any soloable at 85 Charm items whose stats do not depend on certain conditions (Near undead, levitate on etc.)?

I have, for years, avoided the crazy Bazaar prices game. When I need to outfit a char, I but whatever is priced reasonably in the Bazaar, and then either hunt whatever I can get, or just do without. I used to complain about the price of rank 2 spells/turn-in items, and finally just accepted that rank 1 spells are fine, and I can upgrade them whenever. Less stress, more fun :)

What did I do this weekend? Friday was fun. I logged in with my mains in Tactics, near the first (fake) Rallos Zek. I had camped out Thursday, puzzling why I couldn't target him, and Friday figured out that there were two more mobs to kill to activate him. So I was hoping to see those two mobs. Well, the fake Rallos was gone, so I figured I missed my window. Then I do a /who, and see one person in the zone, who then shouts for help. He had just spawned the real RZ, and at 89, was having difficulty. So he lucked out in that I took care of RZ, and I lucked out in that I didn't have to wait any more for RZ :)

Spent Saturday getting the BoT key done x 3 in PoS, and then using my baby rogue to level poisoncrafting from 0-300, and got the trophy to ~30% of done. Sunday, finished the trophy, and that was it. Camped at Terris Thule's spot in PoNb. Logged in last night, found her up, and took care of that flag. Now just need Grummus for tier 1 PoP zone flags.

For a period of time, I was using the one that increases based on how empty the zone is. Given the current population of most zones in EQ nowadays, this was a decent choice. Now, I just use whatever the latest charm that grants stats based on how many class specific armor slots you have filled and am done with it. Since I always upgrade to class specific armor from each expansion (for your level range, that stuff is all buyable in the 8-10k range usually), it's a pretty safe bet. Honestly, this get's to be a *really* nice option once you get around level 100, since the tier 2 stuff in CoTF is buyable for marks, which you'll get a ton of whilst doing HAs. You can literally solo (well, class depending) and get that armor. Interestingly enough, the TDS tier 2 armor is only a teensy tiny bit better (like a couple stat points, maybe). So while I've picked up a few of those along the way it hasn't been a priority.

Didn't play at all this weekend. Been ridiculously busy at work, debugging an image/communication issue, which I suspect after doing like 5 variations of re-install may ultimately come down to the vender never having actually tested and verified the particular workstation/OS/hardware configuration (but of course I have to go through all the hoops to prove that I'm not doing anything wrong first). After staring at a computer screen for 10+ hours a day, usually the last thing I want to do when I get home is sit in front of a computer.

I'll confess I don't remember the last time I logged in. (probably a few weeks now).

Real-life has been super busy since July though. I'm hoping by October it all settles down.

I have been thinking about EQ and my playtime goals though. I have the funny situation of my characters, heirlooms, /claim, and best gear being spread around some servers and not being sure I want to play under FV ruleset (where most of my best characters and gear is).

My most familair classes are necro and enchanter (though I am probably a better necro having done it more, higher level and lately). My best non-FV enchanter is on Povar, but rather easily replaced by the 51/50 Quarm character once they get dumped onto a live server --it's kind of amusing admitting that. I have good reason to play a necro/sk on Povar, but feel like I'd rather restart a new necro than use the heroic one I have there (SK I have only soloed to 44 in the modern era... so I may actually know next to nothing about playing one in real content). If I play any other class... I can either go back to Cazic Thule server or replace them with Quarm starts (almost all my 60+ characters on FV).

I really represent the kind of player that would be absolutely into a new race, with new content to level 1-85 in. That may never happen of course.

My chars are all 85-87 with maxed throwing, but Clurg's Prized Stein is only very slightly better than the Heroic Seal of the Adventurer Charm. The incremental increase isn't worth the cost to me. If I keep levitate on, those charms are substantially better.
